@SW-User I wish they would add Georgia
SW-User
@Julien I think 7 teams would be too many. I think there's a good case for a second tier competition with promotion of the top team.

@SW-User absolutely agree with you , Italie has been a disappointment lately it could be beneficial for them as well to play in the 6b

@SW-User Of course such a second tier competition has existed for decades. Georgia has won it nine of the last 10 times.

@Mugin16 Its getting difficult to justify Italy over Georgia
Mugin1646-50, M
@SW-User Italy beat Georgia 28-17 a couple years back. Georgia lost all their games in their "Grand Slam" tour last autumn but they held their own against Wales and especially Ireland. And that was the first time ever they played four tier one sides in four straight weeks.

The problem is that none of the Unions involved want to open up the Six Nations to promoation and relegation. And Italy is a far bigger and richer TV market than Georgia.

@Mugin16 Yes, money is always going to be a big factor.

@SW-User Yes, indeed. On one hand that is sad but on the other hand money is crucial in a professional sport.

"Italy should face the prospect of relegation from the Six Nations after their 50-10 hammering by France in the 2021 tournament opener, according to former Wales captain Sam Warburton."
