I dunno. It is a skill and I have no problem with it but I prefer watching real sports, like association football.
I've never been an athletic guy but I appreciate team work and athletic skill. If e-sports become big then that could encourage unhealthy life choices.

I'd argue that blowing out your knees and back by the time you're 30 and receiving multiple concussions are unhealthy life choices😉
But personal preference for the game you're watching aside, is there any difference in the validity of participating said game as a spectator?

@Pikachu In soccer, the injuries are nowhere near as bad as in us football or rugby.
I don't have a problem with the spectator side, if people enjoy it. It's just I've read Pro gamers have to spend hours and hours obsessively practicing. Maybe they would anyway but it's not great for lifestyle.
You can maybe get away with it when you are young if you are an ectomrph and ecerxise. I'm in my thirties now and have to work on my health more.

@Pikachu I'm talking about the health issue, not dedication.
@Burnley123
Yeah, the health issue. Exactly.
But if i'm not mistaken, you were suggesting that gaming would have these problems....apparently unlike sports?
Or am i misunderstanding you?

@Pikachu I that think playing sports is better for health than gaming.
@Burnley123
Seems to me that you hear a lot more about sports injuries and even deaths than you do about gaming ones...

@Pikachu It depends on the sport. I'm British and our version of football is very different to the NFL. You don't get the concussions, the brain damage and the life-changing injuries. A player might get injured but the injuries never affect their post-sports life.
I don't think its healthy for someone to do a job which involves hours and hours sat down behind a computer screen. I am not in favour of banning it and these things give people pleasure. That's fair enough. But for reasons that I've given, it's not something I like. I think we'll have to agree to disagree.

lol Never?
Calling shenanigans on that one but ok.
I'm just pointing out that sports are not easy on your body, especially not at the professional level.
