Ok, a more rational and levelheaded post about snowboarding than my last one.

For all of you who are not followers of the sport, please take into consideration that people like Red Gerard and Chloe Kim do not represent the best of us. They're amateurs and newbies to snowboarding. Those who compete in the Olympics are nowhere near the professional level and should not be regarded as such. The highest level snowboarders are not teenagers who tweet about being "hangry" in the middle of riding a halfpipe.

FYI The Olympics are not considered professional level in any field of athletics. In fact professionals are banned from attending...as such.

As a side note... That is why I like Olympic sports. It is supposed to be for non-professionals.

@DeWayfarer It USED to be considered that way. People forget it isn’t anymore.

@DeWayfarer From today or from decades ago?

@BlueMetalChick anytime. Note they have to have been professional during the Olympics.

@BlueMetalChick They ruined it in 1986 I see. It never was intended to be professional. In fact many medals were lost before 1986 just because they were found out to be professional.
