Well. Im not sure. I think our bodies are randomly constructed from the earth. Like you have parts from your parents who have parts from thier parents etc. Your soul is piloting your body wich is immortal. This is who you actually are. Then theres like a soul of souls or an "oversoul" wich has souls in bodies all over the universe.
Then there's god, wich is the root of all creation and technically us at the same time.

@deathfairy My understanding is that each single soul reincarnates.
I (the soul) am reincarnating, and each time experiencing the journey of life.
I the soul have no beginning or the end. My current reincarnation will have an end, just as my previous reincarnations. I will have future reincarnations.
That other previous reincarnation of me, is me (not the other soul). It's like then I was wearing a Tuxedo (Different body), now I'm wearing a Suit (My current body). This is my understanding and belief.
Oh! There are several ideas.Ofcourse respect it, if your ideas are different.
Note: I don't talk about governments, politics and religion.

Better than I expected. And not far off from what I think, but also, what if the soul is not individual? But a sort of shared throughout all living beings?
The spirit being what gives us any quirk or differences?

I think you're referring to 'Non - Dualism'. I haven't experienced Consciousness (atleast in this incarnation). My position is that of a disciple, not a Saint. So, I can comprehend, but may be not qualified to elaborate.
Just want to add that 'Non-Dualism' includes everything, not just limited to living beings.
