Starting to understand things a little differently
There is no spirit, not a one, that hasn't done some seriously bad shit somewhere in their existence. No one is squeaky clean. And people are quick to demonize spirits for this. As in literally claim they are demons. But that is just not the case. (Not saying demons don't exist, they definitely do but they are a different matter). The truth of the matter is, the more power you have, the worse the consequences are when you make a mistake. That's what it comes down to.
Spirits are on their own journeys just like humans. They are still learning and evolving too. But when they mess up the consequences are just a lot a lot worse because of how strong they are. It's hard. Now there are 100% genuinely bad spirits out there. I'm not saying they are all just misunderstood. I have met some real assholes. But you can't necessarily judge a spirit because of certain calamity they may have caused in the past. Because it's different. If you are in a bad mood, and get really upset, and you aren't coping well you may punch a hole in the wall. Or yell at someone. Or even get in a fight with someone. When spirits get really upset and lost in their emotions they cause things like natural disasters or other really bad events. But it's not necessarily on purpose. For some yes. But for some it's just what happened when they let their emotions get the best of them. Everyone experiences that from time to time. Because of this, genuinely good spirits try really hard to practice self control and regulation of their emotions. But just like people, not all spirits do this. Or even know how.
We gotta give spirits some grace I think. Just because one blows up on occasion doesn't mean it's a demon. We need to realize spirits are more like humans than we realize. But at the same time we need to be aware of how dangerous they are. Because even the good ones are dangerous under the wrong conditions. Do your best to practice discernment, do your research on any entity that approaches you and judge if you want to invite something with a history of its behavior into your life. Don't ever take a spirit for its word-look at its behavior towards you and the effects having it in your life has had on you. This goes for people too really. Be aware that once a spirit is in your life, you may not be able to get them out depending on the spirit. In other words, go into every spirit relationship with the preparation of it becoming a permanent character in your life. Not that every spirit you interact with will stay with you this way-but you don't really get to choose the ones that do once they have already been invited in. Be aware of that.
Spirits can be a wonderful help. They can be great friends to us, protectors, mentors, for some people even lovers. The key is just being extremely selective in who you deal with and doing your research well. And be prepared for "hiccups"....particularly if you are a strong personality that is dealing with spirits who are also strong personalities, if you get what I mean. One type of person may get along with a certain spirit amazingly well. Another person may seriously clash with or agitate that spirit. Also be aware of this. Just because one person has a bad experience with a certain spirit doesn't necessarily mean you will. However, again behavioral history speaks for itself.....if a spirit has repeatedly shown outright unprovoked malicious behavior to someone or followers in general you can assume it is not very nice.
Now to answer my original question-should you want to invite spirits into your life? Absolutely. 100%. But the RIGHT spirits. God is pretty much as safe as it gets, but humans tend to have greater difficulty connecting with God in opposition to lesser spirits. Seek out your specific guides and guardians that are in association with God. Use specific intentions to reach out to only positive, God-associated entities. Your guides and guardians are just an absolute must in any person's life I think. Without them you are practically going through life blind and they have to try to lead you and keep you safe without you being able to speak with them. They are remarkably good at doing this, but being able to communicate with them freely just.....helps a lot.
Now I am not saying you have to ONLY stick to these spirits. But when you are JUST getting started with the spiritual world, those should be your go-to's. God will NEVER bring harm to you. At worst God will just not protect you from harm, for a reason. They also will be happy to orient you to the spirit world and will do so in a way that is best for you. Other spirits may gladly orient you too, but they will do so in a way that they prefer to, colored by their own agendas, and not in a way that will necessarily be positive or beneficial for you to experience. So be aware of that. I would say the absolute easiest safe "beginner" spirits to get in contact with are your personal spirit guides, which tend to be former humans that had some sort of relationship with you in a past life, are fully moved on and "with God" and want to help you now. They are easiest to get in touch with of the "safe" spirits because they are closest to humans in nature. Closest to what we are. Things that are less human we will naturally have trouble connecting with (and spoiler tend to be scarier & more overwhelming to deal with because there are "culture clashes" between spirits and people and some spirits do NOT understand how to interact appropriately with humans, also spirits who were once human tend to be more sympathetic to humans in general), and God ironically I suspect people have the most trouble connecting with of all. So yeah, start with personal spirit guides.
If that is all you feel comfortable having in your life I don't really see any harm to that, but be aware that at some point in your existence, maybe not in this lifetime, but at some point, you WILL have to face other spirits. Because the next phase of our development after living physically as humans is to live as spirits. Thus we will be amongst other spirits. And you do have to learn how to interact, get along, look out for yourself, all over again like you did when you were first learning how to be a person. So just something to keep in mind. And just because you choose not to reach out to other spirits doesn't mean they won't choose to reach out to YOU. So being educated in and aware of them at the very least helps you realize when one is trying to reach out to you, and what you should do about it.
It is really sad that most people seem to lack the most basic information about spirits and the spirit world when it is such a massive part of existence and our own development as beings. I'll just try to share what I can and hope it sticks with some folks. The ones who boo and make fun aren't ready, and that's fine. They'll get there in their own time.
