I've had multiple people—both atheists and Christians—tell me things like...

"I like to pretend like God is real sometimes because it's nice" or "You may as well believe because a reality without God is depressing."

Yes, it is depressing. Does that mean God is real?

Since this is the internet, I have to clarify, I ask this question more in terror than challenge. I'm terrified of there being no God.

Considering how human beings are... and that in the myths, we are the creation of God. Considering what we know, on how human beings make descisions, spoiler alert: there is very little if any "free will" to be found. Maybe you should be a bit more fearfull of the idea that there is a God that created us. Espescially if we are made in the image of that creator. And if you also look at the universe, where a giant rock can randomly wipe us out if it gets caught by the gravitational field of our planet. Or our excistence, where a bacteria or virus can mutate and wipe out a large part of humanity in the most horrible way, ... I mean, if there is a creator look at His works and despair.

Luckely... there is no proof for the hypothesis of an intelligent being behind what we are perceiving. So at the moment, I wouldn't live if there was something hiding behind the curtain.

If you need something to worship, then worship life - all life, every last crawling bit of it! We're all in this beauty together!
