What about providing proof of his existence? He can’t do that either?
Matt85 · 36-40, M
@LeopoldBloom I have an enormous respect for God so it's hard for me to hear this but I guess he didn't open your eyes to Him...Yet..
I mean, the world itself is a miracle, being conscious and sentient is a miracle. It's been 2023 years since Jesus was born and that's why the date is the date it is. I don't know, somehow I think this wont be enough for you to believe.

@Matt85 There are other explanations for the world besides an imaginary deity. If you're going to propose goddidit as an explanation, you need to explain the precise mechanism whereby a disembodied intellect (something that's never been observed in nature) can affect material reality. The goddidit explanation raises more questions than it answers.
If God does exist and hasn't chosen to reveal himself to me for some reason, isn't that on him? It would be cruel for him to hold me responsible for not believing in him when he's deliberately withholding evidence of his existence from me.
And yeah, I'm aware that our calendar is dated from when Jesus was supposedly born. Jews and Muslims use a different calendar. The prevalence of the Christian one only proves that Christians were more aggressive in imposing it.

@Emosaur Until I got to the end of the sentence I was about to respond: Who the hell is Mittwoch?

@Emosaur I know that. I was just making a feeble joke. Anyway, why isn't it some variant of Odin's/Woden's day?
