Was Judas really a "bad guy"?

People always consider Judas a traitor since he betrayed Christ and sold him to the Romans to be crucified. But wasn't God's whole plan to have Jesus crucified in order for human kind to be forgiven for their sins? So if Judas hadn't betrayed Jesus what would have happened? I feel that Judas was only forfilling his part in God's whole plan.

i dont belive in god any any of that stuff but to put it the judas thing into modern context, if a man was on death row for killing someone ( as in jesus was planned to be sacrified by god) and the parent of the murdered person (judas) managed to kill that person before he was executed that that person (judas) would get punished for murder
