Was Judas really a "bad guy"?

People always consider Judas a traitor since he betrayed Christ and sold him to the Romans to be crucified. But wasn't God's whole plan to have Jesus crucified in order for human kind to be forgiven for their sins? So if Judas hadn't betrayed Jesus what would have happened? I feel that Judas was only forfilling his part in God's whole plan.

It's all perspective. To the Romans, Christianity was an evil pagan cult. Judas probably thought he was doing a righteous public service. It just so happened that the guy he got killed became worshipped.

@QueenOfZaun I don't think the Romans were concerned about other religions. They ruled a vast empire of different cultures. The Jewish religious leaders were would have been more concerned about Christianity.

@chrisCA The Romans murdered Jesus and outlawed Christianity. You should read what Roman scholars of that time had to say about Christianity. It’s not kind.
