Temples are made for people so they can come and practice their spirituality in peaceful surrounding of temple, whether they just sit their in silence but spending time there also is part of spirituality......to feel lightened up !
@AngelKrish In ancient times there were cultures that built their temples for the Gods and the priests only, common people were forbidden to enter the sanctuary.

@Serkan Yes, they can call it as house of God... because of that place where prayers and mantras are chanted which purifies surroundings of the place and you easily can connect yourself with God in such place where u feel your mind calm ..... positive...
God gives everyone life, money,love, food, fresh air for breathing,shelter ...etc etc according to their karma.... Do u think God is not capable to make his own house ....? God is everywhere,in mountains,in forests...in vallies...in sky..no one can limit him to just temples.....or church or masjid...
You can built your own temple in yourself if u place God in your mind and heart! But that's not so easy....
So in Buddhism and in Hinduism we practice meditation,mantras chantings....yoga .
