Spiritual Beings

I believe that all humans are Spiritual and don't always need a holy book to feel this way. Why do Atheists always assume that religious or spiritual people need a book or scripture to back up their feelings about God and our existentialism and a greater existence in the afterlife? I'm not an expert on the Bible or any particular writings but I am aware of God and an afterlife and by the small pieces I have read alone I consider that I am a Christian. So what's the big deal with Atheists have in trying to tell me i'm wrong etc?
I have a question. How will awareness only, get one to heaven?

Like you, I don't believe one needs a holy book to feel spiritual. However, Jesus said He gave us His Word as a Guide, so we would not have to guess, but know how to get to heaven. It is not a book intended to back up our feelings. Feelings have nothing to do with salvation. Neither does religion or what denomination one is. Jesus made that very clear in His Word. It is Jesus that sets the standard for salvation, not man. Anyone can call themselves a Christian, but Jesus said if they do not follow the standard set by Himself for salvation, they shall remain lost.

@LadyGrace You are kind and loving. God must love you a lot for you to spread his word and love. Your work for God will not go unnoticed. ❤️
@KALIS As are you, sweet lady and friend. God has no favorites. He loves us all the same. Even his enemies who hung Him on the cross, He loved, for He looked up into heaven from the cross and said, "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do!" This is pure love. ❤️🙏🤗

It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks or perceives about you and your beliefs.
People can only perceive from the point of awakening they are in.
There is no guarantee that what you believe today will be the same you believe in some time to come.
Does that make your beliefs today wrong?
I don't think so.
We believe what is right for us in any given time.
All judgements coming about other peoples beliefs are usually just insecurity in their own.

@SW-User Well said.

Jesus said that what we as individuals believe, and the choice we make about it, means the difference in spending an eternity in heaven or in hell. So that makes that particular decision, the most important decision of our whole life. That's not judging; that's what Jesus said, and it's what He said, that counts. That makes it something we must not neglect nor ignore, because doing nothing, leaves our soul to chance and keeps one lost and separated from God. That's what He said.

@LadyGrace
I believe that at source we're all one. That the whole macrocosm of the universe is represented and reflected in us.
That the spirit/soul then choose to have a human experience and experience itself in infinite possibilities.
When it's born as a human, it forgets its true nature. Which is the only way to really experience the various ways of being a human.
There are two core emotions - Fear and Love. Fear keeps you in vicious cycles of what could be depicted as hell. Love liberates you in what could be depicted as heaven.
I do not believe these to be separate places. We're everything and everything is in us.
This is what my beliefs are. I had answered with this on another one of the authors post.
I appreciate different beliefs and I have no requirement that people should believe the same as I.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Ive come to the conclusion that many Atheists are just miserable people.

@SW-User You might be right, lol

I think you are wrong to generalise about atheists. I am an atheist, but I also regard myself as in some sense spiritual (which doesn’t mean that I believe in an afterlife). I have the greatest respect for some parts of the Christian religion and its history. I wouldn’t dream of telling anyone that they were wrong in holding any particular religious belief, only that I didn’t share their faith.

@KALIS You condemn yourself out of your own mouth. You can only speak about people you know. Yet you assert in your post that “all Atheists …” , and say that I must be unique. There are probably hundreds of millions of atheists in the world, of whom you know nothing. And by the way, though it’s not particularly important, atheist is not spelt with a capital letter.

@MartinII you seem to be butt hurt ? checking my grammar is classy. I mean who really cares ..lol
MartinII · 70-79, M
@KALIS You obviously don’t know the meaning of the word grammar. I corrected your use of a capital letter, not your grammar. And I said it wasn’t particularly important.

I couldn't agree more. I don't need any books to be or to connect with spirituality. It's within me...
KALIS · 41-45
@Unlearn It's good that you have found your awareness

@KALIS good!? It's awesome ☺️

Cause some are disrespectful and think they're right and everything else is wrong.
It's nice to find respectful people..
KALIS · 41-45
@SW-User probably right . People need to respect others more I think

Opposing points of view will normally spark some debate. Each will try to make their point.it’s not unusual.
