Yes they do know that he existed and has been worshipped since his birth and was awaited on with deep anticipation as the promised Messiah from the beginning of creation.

Why ? Aside from the fact that the great flood is total bullshit, it also appears in other mythologies that predate christianity. The myth doesn’t belong exclusively to the bible What exactly would it prove about Jesus, heaven and Hell ?

Just giving you clues because you are operating with nothing. Think in terms of genealogy after the flood and other information of Genesis. I am sure you have never challenged your beliefs and still think the universe is expanding.

What is your point ? Genesis is just one creation myth. The flood is a fairytale. Neither could happen in reality. Are you saying they somehow prove the afterlife ? They’re just fables.

The expanding universe is showing signs of wear and tear. That is only the imagination of men. I wouldn’t just toss this truthful story aside as to label it a myth. Your Post demonstrates a lack of fear of God. Might be time for you to reconsider.

I know I’m going to regret this, but obviously you are chomping at the bit to bring up the subject of the expanding universe. I don’t suppose you have any credible evidence to show. A thing like that would normally make the news, and a few of the well known astrophysicist would probably mention it on their blog.
So go ahead, knock yourself out, let’s hear it. I have no idea how you connect it to the myths of genesis, Noah, Jesus, or heaven and Hell. Nor do you from what I’ve seen.
For the the record, I don’t fear god, because I don’t believe he exist, and if he does exist, he wouldn’t care what I think of him anyway. The whole point of the question asked.

You are the one that prominently featured Jesus in your Post but failed to give the due respect and fear for his name.

You obviously don’t study science much or you would know this.
I normally don’t do this but I will give you a clue so that you don’t languish on your ignorance. It has to do with a lack of error analysis completed in how they measure the expansion. So google your heart out because I don’t give out cherries like that so easily.

Actually I didn’t mention him, I merely brought up the fact that Jesus is the icon of Christianity. There are other religions and they don’t care about what he preached.
For that matter , neither do I.
My original question was to find out if religion was still important if it doesn’t deliver the afterlife promised. Since I don’t believe in any god, I have no fear of one.
As for your comments on the expanding universe. I’ll listen to the experts for now, until someone provides some compelling evidence to back it up. I doubt very much I’ll find that here.

So much for your effort into researching the questionable effectiveness using red shift for anything. So little effort goes into validating scientific measuring tools and methods. I am guessing you never took a high school science course using error analysis in validating lab results.

As far as Jesus, if you group heaven, hell and God you are speaking of Jesus whether you are aware of the applicable terms or not. His authorship of the universe is not dependent on your belief.

Science is also self correcting. Evidence can be tested and confirmed by other people without an agenda. Can the same be said for religion ?
The bible is full of errors it’s not a reliable source for facts or history. In the end truth is what can be demonstrated to be correct. If your confidence is so strong, what’s the harm in some references? Worst that can happen is you find out your wrong, and you correct it.

The Holy Bible is very correct through the millenniums. The copying of the Torah was a very exacting practice. Don’t you feel sorry for the big bangers that believed and died in an outdated theory; I mean hawking got buried next to a real scientist but he didn’t care what they believed. He got what he wanted. You know, for the Hell of it, I did as you asked, and googled your claims on the expanding universe, etc. seems there isn’t much of anything on the mainstream about the whole thing coming to a halt. And the Big Bang theory is still going strong.
So tell me, what else did they scientist get wrong . Does the sun and other planets orbit the earth ? Did humans live side by side with dinosaurs. Was there a world wide floor ?
Is the tower of Babble the reason why we have different languages?
Since I don’t believe everything I’m told, I need a bit more information before I judge what kind of person you are. However, your reluctance to back up your claims, isn’t helping your image.
