Last night, a huge blaze ravaged Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Some parts of it are irremediably lost, the roof, the spire, several stained glass windows.
But this morning, we were greeted with this almost surreal image. I am in awe of the symbolism of this image of the altar and cross, intact and lit as if from heaven, on this week where we are getting ready to commemorate the Passion of Christ and celebrate His resurrection.

@Harriet03 Maybe. It was beautiful to see people kneeling in the streets across from the burning Cathedral, singing hymns and praying for their church.
@Harriet03 I doubt it was 'Gods plan', it was just a tragic accident. But God can take a disaster and turn it into something life giving, and that's what I hope will happen.
As I can say with as much faith, that there is only 1 true God. Your belief is that there are many, and you have faith in that belief Mine is there is only one, and I have faith in that. We humans are searching for the truth, and I will never say your search is wrong, for you have found your truth. One day we will all understand the ultimate truth, and that will be when we can finally stop all this useless bickering

@Fernie You may want to try kindness and compassion sometime. Belittling others and being rude is a sad way to live. I’m agnostic, but I can understand why people have their faith. Lashing out at others because you don’t believe what they do isn’t going to make the world a better place. Live and let live. That’s what you want too, isn’t it?

@Fernie That’s a generalization. I know many people of faith, whatever it may be, who are kind and compassionate. It’s the extremists who get the press and the attention, but they don’t speak for all nor do their actions. Instead of generalizing and bashing others, why don’t you try getting to know them and understand them? Hating others because they’re different from you is a sad way of living.
