The plight of Christians in Myanmar

Christians in Myanmar are facing worsening systematic persecution.

In Chin State, one of the countries poorest regions, they rape women, torture parents. They destroy crosses… persecution is happening across the Christian regions.

According to Dr Sara, a medical doctor, humanitarian, and politicians, if you are a Christian, you do not get education. do not get health care, you are second class citizens. They want us u educated, dejected and poor.

Archbishop Sarah highlighted them in her installation sermon. Let us pray for them, that hope remains there, and Myanmar becomes a light in the darkness.

With the wars nearer home in Ukraine and the Middle East dominating the News, it is too easy to overlook others elsewhere, such as in Sudan; and atrocities like the repressions of the Christians in Myanmar, the Uyghurs in China and the women in Afghanistan.

@ArishMell Thanks for this

The sinicization is particularly worrying in China.

@peterlee Most of the Uyghurs are Muslim. The Muslim nations so ready to criticise "Western culture" and other religions seem strangely silent on this - though even if they do protest the Beijing government would ignore them anyway.

@ArishMell It's not a joke, Jshm2, depsite your silly symbol.

We are talking about ruthless, very cruel regimes you and I are very fortunate not to live in.

Your "laugh" sign only demeans you.
