In the debate about whether or no god exists, is the burden of proof on the theist to prove he does or the atheist to prove he doesn't? [Spirituality & Religion]

And please, none of this hippy, huggy feel-good bullshit about "neither side has to prove it! just let people believe what they want!"

neither side can prove they are right. if you are talking about specifically whether a God created the universe, or whether the universe came into existence as the result of the big bang, or even that it has always existed, none of those things can be proven.

@MetalGreymon: thx, i clarify my point that, yes, burden of proof (to the extent someone is interested in proving the point to someone) is on the person intending to prove something to be true. My point is simply that when it comes to this particular issue, no one can prove any of the views that you may wish to prove.
