Would you remain loyal to God if heaven wasn't promised to you? [Spirituality & Religion]

I read this question elsewhere. I'm interested in what you think.

loyal to an invisible sky fairy...nonsense

[c=#BF0080]Yes. Because nothing is ever promised or guaranteed. [/c]
@Wingz1969: Heaven is promised, in John 3:16. That was the whole purpose of His sacrifice, that we might have eternal life through Jesus.
Yes. I worship Him out of love, not for reward, for all He did for me...and the world. He is worthy of praise.

I don't believe in god. I am loyal to myself, my own values.

I can see how a promise of an afterlife can direct actions but I can also see how someone can be loyal to a deity out of present gratefulness not future ends.

silly question.. heaven? a concept, promised? never heard of that anywhere and the bullshit one must obey to is futile and self serving.

no thanks. fuck god.

If you truly believe in a God, and Heaven...I do not think you believe it is a promise to you sans certain conditions.

Yes, I would. Heaven isn't promised.

To the one and only? Yes.

The whole reason for imagining a God is so that one can better imagine a paradise. I think that the question is a little backwards in terms of prioritization.

I love Jehovah because of what he is and how he shows what he is. If you would take away everything he has promised us and he gives us, then he would no longer show us his love, and I would not be able to know him in the way I currently do. Currently I need the promises to get to know him better and to come to the point where I no longer need them, but already know him for our past.
