@HeadphonesDude: How would you describe the Imans and Aytollas then in Iran. Saudi, Yemen, and Egypt. I'd say they are the leaders.

I think ayatollahs lead the shia population. (Shia linguistically means group that broke away from the main stream - if I remember correctly).
