Does life matter if we have no after life? [Spirituality & Religion]

Honestly when I was an atheist I wondered if nothing lasts then everything has no meaning.

Other people give my life meaning, living in the moment, loving them, enjoying being with them, sharing life experiences, giving support and helping when and if I can and them helping me when I need it. There is NO guarantee of tomorrow, an afterlife, or an hour from now. If you or I don't make it happen then it wont. If I choose to sit in the corner contemplating my belly button then that is what my life will be.
