Why do some people think that you have to be religious to have morals? [Spirituality & Religion]

I don't need to have a religion in order to know the difference between right and wrong.
If the ONLY reason you don't go around committing serious crimes is because your God says not to, then you have some serious issues and it has nothing to do with religion.

You're right, but there's a caveat. God made us with understanding of right and wrong... so even unbelievers have that, even if they don't know the source of it.

@Djce45: People aren't born knowing the difference between right and wrong. Just like people aren't born knowing how to love or hate. These things are taught.

We are going to partially disagree. Some of it, maybe most of it, is taught. But a sense of right and wrong... one is born with that.

@Djce45: An inate sense of right and wrong has nothing to do with any mythical being you call "god" because it doesn't exist.
