Do you ever get a prompt in your mind to not do X, cause something oddly specific will happen...

And you brush it off as paranoia, so you do X anyway
But then the oddly specific thing happens!?

I think sometimes the conscious mind knows more than he/she lets on.

Don't get me wrong I've had my fair share of prompts that led nowhere but every now and then I guess correct.

I had one eerie experience like that, but it did not involve anything that might be called "intuitive" or "moral", or something that my subconscious would have been aware of. Still, it was weird.

I was in college. I returned from a break, flying into Boston's Logan Airport. I took the metro trains to get to my dorm.

Boston has four different subway lines. I caught the Blue line at the airport. The usual procedure was to take that to a stop where I could catch the Green line, and take that for one stop and then catch the Red line, which would take me a few blocks from my dorm. That was how my friends and I always got back to campus from any destination along the Blue Line route.

But as I was riding on the Blue line train, I thought about an alternate route that I had never tried. Instead of getting off at the station that connected to the Green line, I could get off at a different stop, where I could catch the Orange Line, which would take me to the Red Line.

For some reason, I felt a compulsion for doing that, and I could not shake it off. So I did it.

I immediately regretted it. At the station where I transferred, there was a long walk to get to the Orange Line, and I was dragging a suitcase. I was telling myself I was an idiot for doing this.

But I eventually got back to my dorm, without ever using the usual Green Line. When I showed up on my floor, people looked at me in surprise.

"How did you get back?"

"I took the T"

"We've been hearing on the radio that a train is stalled on the Green Line track. The trains have not been moving for hours."

@DrWatson THAT is a thrilling story. That's what we call a prompt from the holy spirit.

I have heard, also, that a man will be walking along, and suddenly start to think very strongly of a certain friend. And when that man CALLS that friend, the friend will tell him that he is sick, or in trouble and needs help.

@DrWatson Ah that was lucky. :)

I’ve experienced this lots of times

That still, small voice in your head is the voice of the holy spirit within you, counseling you. Ignoring your "inner voice" will always lead to sad consequences.
