The things that affect our brain chemistry are countless. Also about every ten years, every cell in the body is replaced. So basically you are not you. The memories are stored and retrieved by chemical reactions.

@swirlie Saying "I don’t know" is far better than making things up.

@yestestvennaya Post links. Anecdotes are not evidence.

Where did you read this nonsense?

I see no reason as to why not.
“We are more than the sum total of our parts” after all. We have different organs that perform different functions, the combination of these can have amazing effect. Our eyes for example, have blind spots, our brains fill them in. It’s not supernatural, it’s perception.

You just gave the reason why thought doesn't come from the brain: we are more than just our body parts.
Do you really think that it's our brain that produces perception?

I think I dont know what to think

I often have thoughts that I find hard to believe are mine. I do wonder where some of them come from.

How do you prove something exists that's otherwise invisible to the naked eye?
Your agnostic rebuttal therefore, doesn't dis-prove anything that I've stated in my post.

@swirlie I'm not out to disprove you and I'm not saying you're wrong. I live with an open mind, maybe, just maybe, we will find out when our earthly body dies. I think we live in an intelligent universe, I think there is proof of that.

The thing is, when we die, we cannot reveal the secret that is suddenly revealed to us, so we take that knowledge with us to our grave!

I think the soul is the lifeforce and the brain produces thought.
LeopoldBloom · M
What's your evidence for that?
sree251 · 41-45, M
@LeopoldBloom
Evidence? Do you mean something that you can perceive or detect with the senses, namely sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell?

No, our brain has nothing to do with our thoughts. Our brain is only the computer that links the human body to it's spirit energy. It is the universe Proper that contains all 'thought' and our spirit connects with the universe Proper, then guides our body through a process called "Spiritual Guidance".

@swirlie Computers are predictable. Are brains?

The Geist is dead where there is no brain.
