Can Anyone Answer These Questions Truthfully?

38Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:
2“Who is this who darkens counsel
By words without knowledge?
3Now [a]prepare yourself like a man;
I will question you, and you shall answer Me.
4“Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth?
Tell Me, if you have understanding.
5Who determined its measurements?
Surely you know!
Or who stretched the [b]line upon it?
6To what were its foundations fastened?
Or who laid its cornerstone,
7When the morning stars sang together,
And all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8“Or who shut in the sea with doors,
When it burst forth and issued from the womb;
9When I made the clouds its garment,
And thick darkness its swaddling band;
10When I fixed My limit for it,
And set bars and doors;
11When I said,
‘This far you may come, but no farther,
And here your proud waves must stop!’
12“Have you commanded the morning since your days began,
And caused the dawn to know its place,
13That it might take hold of the ends of the earth,
And the wicked be shaken out of it?
14It takes on form like clay under a seal,
And stands out like a garment.
15From the wicked their light is withheld,
And the [c]upraised arm is broken.
16“Have you entered the springs of the sea?
Or have you walked in search of the depths?
17Have the gates of death been [d]revealed to you?
Or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death?
18Have you comprehended the breadth of the earth?
Tell Me, if you know all this.
19“Where is the way to the dwelling of light?
And darkness, where is its place,
20That you may take it to its territory,
That you may know the paths to its home?
21Do you know it, because you were born then,
Or because the number of your days is great?
22“Have you entered the treasury of snow,
Or have you seen the treasury of hail,
23Which I have reserved for the time of trouble,
For the day of battle and war?
24By what way is light [e]diffused,
Or the east wind scattered over the earth?
25“Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water,
Or a path for the thunderbolt,
26To cause it to rain on a land where there is no one,
A wilderness in which there is no man;
27To satisfy the desolate waste,
And cause to spring forth the growth of tender grass?
28Has the rain a father?
Or who has begotten the drops of dew?
29From whose womb comes the ice?
And the frost of heaven, who gives it birth?
30The waters harden like stone,
And the surface of the deep is frozen.[f]

I can.

One thing has always bothered me about the book of Job.

No, neither Job nor I were there when God laid the foundations of the earth, nor could we do any of the things mentioned in God's list.

But we did hear something about God having a bet with Satan...

I once read that the ancient Hebrews / not the present day people, believe that Satan was an instrument of God. That the duties of Satan was to test man and carry out God's wrath.

https://www.clarion-journal.com/clarion_journal_of_spirit/2013/11/satan-old-testament-servant-angel-or-new-testament-cosmic-rebel-by-richard-murray.html

I also read that Satan is not his name but a title of a group of leading angels call The Satanels. And they were the Angels written of in Genesis 6, also called the Watchers.

Christianity adopted the name Satan to the one we call the devil, who is supposed to be the leader of those who revolted in heaven and cast down to earth, different group than the Watchers.

The question is how wrong are the teachings or how right?

Thank you for the interesting link.

Ok, let's say Satan is just an instrument of God's will to test Job.

But surely God, being omniscient, has no need for such a test; He knows what Job will do, or fail to do, beforehand.

Perhaps God's intention is to show Job that Job is nothing compared to God, and that Job shouldn't question why all these terrible things have happened to him.

And after God sets Job straight, He restores Job's goods twofold, but not his original family (who are dead), but gives him ten more children, who (by implication) are better than his original children.

It still bothers me... a lot of dead people, just to prove a point to Job.
@Thinkerbell this is one of the reasons I don't think Job was a real person. I think your challenge misses the point, but only if Job wasn't real
@Thinkerbell
But we did hear something about God having a bet with Satan...

No, we say that God is even sovereign over Satan.
@Thinkerbell

This is why feel good preaching falls short, it will not answer questions like this.

The answer is mysterious. It was God's sovereign plan, his will is mysterious but it is part of God's tapestry being woven.

Good answers. Thank you both for your honesty.
@Thinkerbell Those ten children are the only people that Satan credited to have killed. With God's total approval.

How many people did the god of the Old Testament slay just out of his own jealousy?
Charity · 61-69
@Thinkerbell

You are correct, God already knew what Job would do. God already knows the end, he is not subjected to time he can be in the past / present / and future at any point he so chooses, and as far as we know all three simultaneously.

Everything each and every individual does has already been seen by God.

We look at God as how God tries to teach us to be with each other.

We think because we say we care and truth be told unless it's someone close to one, death of others really doesn't affect one emotionally. Saying all that's horrible that's horrific that's so sad and actually feeling it is two different things. The majority of people say it and don't feel it, there are a few who do feel a form of sadness.

Atheist cry about God murdering people in the Old Testament, what are they actually / honestly doing to stop humans from murdering each other. And humans are something they know are real.

If you notice in the Old testament the people that God killed himself were rebellious, disobedient, and evil in his eyes. The same applies to Job's children they were gathered together at the house partying and yes they had strong drink wine back then. They didn't care anything about God or what God's good for just from the little bit that was spoken of them.

God is not human and he tells us this / he doesn't think like we do and he tells us this. God doesn't care about these flesh bodies and when you read the Bible you find out that these flesh bodies are temporary. They are only used here for life on Earth, they're born, live a few years and die, then our spirits goes back to God and the body goes back to the dust Ecclesiastes 4:7 I believe. That tells us that the spirit is eternal, and only God can destroy our spirits. As Jesus said don't fear him who can kill the body but fear him who can kill both body and soul in hell.

He left his laws and what he expects and those who disobey will not have a part in his kingdom, simple as that. He does not want chaos in any form in his kingdom. You either love him or you don't, and to serve him is to love him. We use the word serve and worship when it's actually being loyal to him and in reverence of him, boiling down to loving him.

And it all goes back to the attempted coup that took place in the heavens and Satan and his angels being cast down to earth. The angels that followed Satan either ""didn't love"" God or was ""too weak"", maybe even ""scared"" because Satan was a powerful angelic figure. And the things that God tells us is to ""choose"" whether we're going to serve him or the devil meaning do we love him or do we love the devil / to ""be strong"" and stand against that which is not of him that the fight is not ours but his and he will avenge us / and as I said earlier ""don't fear"" the one that can kill the body but fear the one that can kill both body and soul.

Said more than I intended, God bless
@Charity

Well then neither me or you are going to heaven then are we? Ever heard the Gospel?
Charity · 61-69
@BritishFailedAesthetic

speak for yourself

And then ask me if I ever heard of the Gospel

What are the Ten Commandments.... his laws!!!

THE GOSPEL

Jesus put all the Ten Commandments into two.

1)Love the Lord thy God with all your heart and 2) to love your neighbor as yourself.

Revelation 22:14 blessed are they that ""keep"" my commandments

Galatians 5:19-22 And Paul made it clear what sins people commit that will not enter into the kingdom of heaven

John 15: 4-5 .... 1st Corinthians 6:9 / 6:19-20

And let's not forget the seven things that God hates.

And then there is that thing called blasphemy, which is taught wrong.
@Charity It all reads just like mythology.
Charity · 61-69
@BlueSkyKing hello again,

It was the church that established what was mythology. It was the church that convinced the Romans, the Greeks and later much of the world what was mythology.

As it is written in the Revelations whatever you're doing keep doing it / (whatever you believe keep believing it.)
@Charity Ah you're a mystic gnostic heretic, I get it.

For people who love the Lord, live for heaven, not this world. It is short and fleeting. The reason for Jobs test I think was to show the angels what true faith is. And show Gods rewards to the faithful with eternal life and many blessings in this life. Jobs children are probably enjoying heaven with Job right now. Look at these verses below which are promises from The Lord for those who love him.

Eph 6

…11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can make your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world’s darkness, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand.…

Mark 10

Truly I tell you Jesus' said "No one who has left home or brothers or sisters or mother or father, children or fields for me or the Gospel will fail to receive a hundred times in this present age, homes, brothers. sisters, mothers, children, and fields-along with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.
