Once a Christian.

I was brought up to go to Church and Sunday School and at the age of eight i made a profession of faith at seventeen I was baptised but as the years passed I have back slidden and although I attend Church I have little interest in spiritual things, even my language has a lot to be desired, sometimes I wish that I could get back to being a Christian,but I find it very difficult.

If you believe that we’ve all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; that Jesus Christ is God born as a man who lived a sinless life for the purpose of being the perfect sacrifice to take on all our sin debts; that he died on the cross but rose three days later because he conquered the grave; and that, if you accept his sacrifice for you personally, you are Saved and will be with him in Heaven someday; then you’re a Christian. Even when we backslide (we all do sometimes). It might help to try to pray at least once a day. I don’t know how you pray, but it doesn’t have to be lengthy or fancy.
A quick, “Lord, please rekindle the desire in my heart for you.”
If you can bring yourself to read the Bible again, that’d help you a lot.

I pray you’re able to turn your focus back to the Lord. I’d be weary of trying to replace him with other forms of spirituality. You’d find yourself even further from the Lord, and if that’s not what you want, then…
