Once a Christian.

I was brought up to go to Church and Sunday School and at the age of eight i made a profession of faith at seventeen I was baptised but as the years passed I have back slidden and although I attend Church I have little interest in spiritual things, even my language has a lot to be desired, sometimes I wish that I could get back to being a Christian, but I find it very difficult.

Why difficult?

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP I just feel that for a while I can be the good Christian then I lose place and fall away.
@Goldenboy You're being too hard on yourself. Salvation has nothing whatsoever to do with your performance. If you ask God to save you then he has saved you, guaranteed. If that was your heart's desire then he answered your prayer. The problem most people make is going by feelings, as to whether they are saved or not. But we don't go by feelings. We go by the promise of God to save all who come to him. He will never turn anyone away who wants to be saved. And he's has not abandoned you. We all drift away from God at times but we don't lose our salvation. God doesn't hold grudges. Pick yourself up and start over again. When we pray and ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins, he remembers them no more and he doesn't want us beating ourselves over the head about them.

@LadyGrace Thankyou for your comment, you have given me a lot to think about, maybe all is not lost.
@Goldenboy believe me, and trust God. All is not lost! That's just what the devil wants you to think but it's not and it never will be. God always goes for us to come back.
@Goldenboy no one can be good enough for God. But you can still be a Christian, and your works won't disqualify you from that, only you're heart
