Easy question spirituality is all based on personal betterment and enlightenment. Religion is based on man-made regulation and thought control as well as political gain

Spirituality got mixed up with theism but it's all about the spirit of life. The spirit in us that makes us live which is also known as the soul and one that operates and resides on the body and departs to leave the body dead.
Whether this spirit hops to another body to be born again, does it have a connection to higher self , where does it go etc. are debates and arguments.
So factions become a religion to conduct the future generations.
I would now be founding a religion after my discovery that heaven and earth are conjoined twins where we live as spirit in heaven while our body resides on earth (hell).
Heaven or hell after death is a stupid belief.

Spirituality and religion are often confused with each other, but they have distinct meanings.
**Religion** refers to a specific set of beliefs, practices, and rituals around a particular faith or doctrine, with rules, dogmas, and scriptures guiding behavior and beliefs. Examples of religions include Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, and Buddhism.
**Spirituality**, on the other hand, is more individualistic and personal, focusing on a broader range of experiences and practices that connect an individual to a higher power, the universe, or transcendence. Spirituality is characterized by subjective experiences, inner connection, non-dogmatic views, and practices like meditation and self-reflection. While many people practice both religion and spirituality, others may identify as spiritual but not religious or vice versa. I hope this helps to clarify.. 😁

nothing really, almost everybody who says they are spiritual (but not religous) bases their spirituality in part on a religion or reilgions
sometimes spiritual people treat religion like an all-you-can eat-buffet where they pick and chose pieces from various religions that they like and in turn reject that relgions validit as a whole .
I love dropouts comedy skit on it which is here:

Rational thought. Lol But seriously dogma and strucgure. Membership and donations. Freedom of thought vs a structured sometimes rigid interpretation of the message from at least 200 years ago.

Without religion, there is no healthy Spirituality...

One is spiritual people still have a soul and most people outside of Buddish don’t have a soul.
It's the same, religionists insist they're spiritual, not religious.
