In the Christian Bible it is written God is spirit and you must serve him in spirit and in truth.

@sree251 you know what people and their ways of thinking really doesn't make sense to me.
The biggest difference is Christianity is tagged to be a religion / spiritualism wasn't' tagged as a religion but now it is also and just like with Christianity they renounce the tag religion.
To become one with the universe - to become one with one self - seeking and having a sense of peace - a sense of purpose - seeking the meaning of life - sometimes mythical -sometimes social -
**Spirituality without the term religion**
Both serves the same purpose.
And as a matter of fact all of what is called religions are based on spiritualism.
You say spiritualism isn't about spirits ____ what makes your essence if it's not your spirit? What is your thinking process if it's not your spirit? Oh you don't have a spirit
https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/biocentrism/201112/does-the-soul-exist-evidence-says-yes
Energy and spirit go hand in hand. Science is now beginning to see everything that exists in this universe is living energy - some in the form of matter / physical. Einstein said everything is energy and through quantum physics it's appearing to be as such.
God our Fathers is spirit/living energy that spoke himself into living physical / matter form which created all other physical / matter that exists in this universe and any other.
It's all spiritual !!!

Words are all we have, and we have to share the same words to express different meanings. Spiritualism, to me, means the belief in the soul, or spirit, that is part of being human. I don't believe in the soul or spirit which is a belief of Christianity.
My essence and thinking process are mysteries. I don't believe that thinking comes from the brain, a belief of science.
Practical science is useful for improving quality of life. It also enables us to create misery and destroy humanity. Theoretical science has no use and serves to foster beliefs in a soulless material world. Your attempt to mix the two paradigms of spiritualism and materialism reflects the conflict in your worldview. Yours is a common predicament.

@sree251 actually it is your lack of understanding in what I posted. Your negativeness has clouded your understanding.
I don't see how a person can put a difference between soul spirit from that of Christianity and that of spiritualism. And Christianity the soul spirit is of the human as well as of God.
You don't believe thinking comes from the Brain.......... did I say thinking comes from the brain - no, no where did I say that. I said your thoughts. BUT THE BRAIN IS WHERE THE THOUGHT PROCESS DOES INITIATE. You disagree fine.
..... You are too weird for me goodbye.

@OriginalDumbMan took you a while to find and post that after your sticker. are you telling me you are Trump supporter?
Yeah I'll say this - considering who Donald Trump is -Jesus wouldn't be supporting him in no shape form or fashion.

Please don't give up on our conversation. Differences in opinions are not a bad thing. They are opportunities for learning. I said that I do not believe thinking or thought process has anything to do with the brain. This question is still debated in scientific circles as "The Hard Problem of Consciousness". You maintain that the brain is where thought process initiate. Explain it.

@sree251 Thank you I appreciate you understanding people have differences in opinions. And you made two comments saying "practical science is useful for the quality of life __ theoretical science has no use and services to foster belief in a soulless material world" then just say "you don't believe thinking comes from the brain, a belief of science" in one of your other replies. Now you are saying "it is still debatable in science" and you seem to be leaving off the negativeness that you have displayed. That's a double standard !!!
Then you asked me to explain to you what I mean when I said **thought process comes from the brain** ( which I added later).
Ok ____ in the medical profession they consider you as brain dead when there is no activity going on in the brain. No activity means: no thoughts / no control over your body / no awareness.......... Your thoughts control your body - if you think move toes and make the effort, your toes will move - as with the rest of your body _ as well any communication / interactions / associations with others - without the brain your body cannot accomplish any of those things cannot accomplish nothing.
One can be put on a respirator - the respirator will keep the body alive - for as long as the body is on the respirator the body will live __ but the body cannot do anything without the function of the brain.
And I have to add there is a difference in being conscious ( brain aware) / thinking and not being able to move. Being paralyzed and not being able to use your body means there is damage done within the body that stops IT from working in the manner in which it should.
That is the best example I can give on how the thought process initiates in the brain.
Heck they can hook you up to machines these days that actually measures your brain waves.
Is there a consciousness / spirit outside of the body. Christianity says yes it is ______ Unless spiritualism has changed in the past years the belief was that the spirit can exist outside of the body some believed it actually became one with the universe. (Which is actually saying becoming one with God)
Agree or disagree as you said we all have our different views - I see it the same forms of belief - you may see a different. Enjoy life

Why do you assume that your thoughts control your body? Do thoughts exist at all? Intention to move your toes doesn't mean that you create a thought to send nerves signals from your brain through your body to your feet to move your toes. Do you believe that your body is like a a robotic machine with onboard computer in the head controlling all the moving parts through fiber optic wiring?
It is so funny to me that you have this belief. You have helped me to understand your viewpoint. Thank you, my friend.

You believe that thought process initiated in the brain can move the body. If the body is damaged, thought process initiated in the brain cannot move it. Your reasoning (logic) is based on the belief that your body is a mechanical system controlled by the brain. This is the perception informed by the materialism of science.
