@Nevaeh0081 There is a strong cultural identity among Jews in large part because of four thousand years of culture, traditions and language, and also persecution.
Christians are not opposed at all to be called Christians. However, I'd like to point out that not all who call themselves Christians, are indeed Christians. That's the problem. They are embarrassing to those who truly follow the Lord and have invited Jesus into their hearts and lives. Without Christ as their Savior, we could never call ourselves Christians, as that is what a Christian is.... Just because a person is Catholic, protestant, jewish, lutheran, pentecost, baptist, evangelical, mormon, whatever their denomination, that doesn't mean they have accepted Christ as their Savior. Not all that go to church are saved, is what I'm saying. That part is up to the individual. We're not automatically "this or that", just because we join a church.
Christians hold to this belief, found in God's Word:
Any who have acknowledged, invited, and received Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and live according to His Word, are calledChristians....followers of Christ. Christians believe denomination has nothing to do with salvation, since Jesus died for the sins of all, not just certain people. Anyone can choose to follow Christ. He turns no one away. It is a commitment to Christ. Not religion. Religion is described as man-made philosophy, which Christians do not follow. They follow God and His Word.
@Nevaeh0081 There are a lot of people that believe in God, yet they are not saved. If we follow man, instead of God and his own Plan of Salvation, we cannot expect a good outcome. Even the devil believes in God but he's not going to heaven. God the Father created The Plan of Salvation for good reason. We need to follow it, if we want to have eternal life in heaven with Him. God did not authorize a man to change his Plan of Salvation. Jesus knew what it would take to save mankind and he accomplished the atonement for our sins on the cross. It was He who said if we try to find Salvation any other way, it will not work. I think if anyone knew what they were talking about, it would be Jesus.
lol, of course! Christians and Jews worship the same God in many essential ways.
How can you say Jews worship God, yet reject His Son as Savior, and therefore God's Plan of Salvation? Christians and Jews may look to the same God, yet in very different ways. If we say we worship God, then I think we should do as He says and He gave his Plan of Salvation for the whole world, yet you have rejected His plan of salvation to be saved by Jesus.
@LadyGrace "Whatever," said the bigot when confronted with her bigotry. Whether you are specifically an anti-semite is hard to tell. You hate many groups.
@Fukfacewillie says the one who claims to believe in God yet his profile name speaks differently. I'd be ashamed to put that name up and call myself a follower of God. How do you think he looks at that?
