Excuses excuses and excuse

Most of us can agree that r*pe and slavery are egregious and abhorrent things, so why do christians make every excuse for laws where such things are permitted (ie Deuteronomy 21:10-14 and Leviticus 25: 44-46) they will make any and every excuse for these verses and not see how psychotic their arguments are.

They aren’t very bright, hence their religiosity.
Khonsu · 26-30, M
@Imsleepy It goes beyond that. You’re taught to think a certain way, read a certain way, act a certain way. It becomes so ingrained into your personality that the thought of everything you thought was right is actually wrong pulls out a cognitive dissonance so strong that they can’t even be reasoned with.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Khonsu You have no idea what you are talking about but you certainly project the atheist position on Christians very well.
Imsleepy · 31-35
He isn’t wrong. I’ve experienced Christian indoctrination first hand. @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy Sadly you didn't learn a thing. Nice try though.
Imsleepy · 31-35
You’re right. They didn’t teach me anything. I thought they had at the time, but I grew up and started thinking for myself. @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. You missed out on the greatest philosophy in the history of mankind. Your problem no one else's.
Imsleepy · 31-35
So me not being convinced while doing independent research into the claims of the Bible instead of blindly believing what I’m told about it is my problem? Why wouldn’t a perfect god would have made their evidence for themselves irrefutable. @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy You have no idea what you are babbling about. Independent research simply doesn't exist. The attempts to disprove the Bible have been going on since the earliest books of the Bible were written yet the Bible still stands and whatsmore is historically correct. Nice of you to play the fool.
Imsleepy · 31-35
So what else would you call researching the claims myself? Are you going to say that science is biased?

You’re calling me a fool but the Bible is wrong from the words “In the beginning” @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy The Bible says that a Fool says in his heart that there is no God. That you are trying to prove there is no God makes you a fool.
Imsleepy · 31-35
I’m not trying to prove anything. I don’t care what you or anyone else believes. As long as you don’t use that belief to dictate they way others live, enjoy yourself. In America, that usually isn’t the case, though. @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy The feelings you have are returned to you. You look extremely foolish sawing off the branch you are sitting on but carry on son. We can all use a good laugh at your expense when you come crashing back to reality.
Imsleepy · 31-35
I live in reality. You’re the one who needs to mystify human existence for some reason. I’m not going to laugh at you. I feel sorry for you. @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy You don't even know what reality is. You have no idea that all your superior morality is based on Christian teachings.
Imsleepy · 31-35
What do you know about the forty-two precepts of Ma'at? Do you know what Christian morality is based on? @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy Christianity is not based on Ma'at. Nice try though. Carry on in your ignorance. It doesn't look good for your side.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy In the beginning was the LOGOS. (Jesus) Kind of predates ancient Egypt don't you think? Oh right you don't think.
Imsleepy · 31-35
If you’re going to insinuate that Christianity predates all the religions that it stole things from, then you simply aren’t fit for discussing any theological topic on that basis alone. It is objectively incorrect. @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy I am stating the fact that Jesus is the LOGOS of the universe. Through Him all things created were created. He is Eternal. Without beginning or end.
Imsleepy · 31-35
And the only evidence you have to back that up is your faith, which isn’t actual evidence, making that a belief and not a fact. @hippyjoe1955
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy The evidence is all around me. That you fail to see it speaks about your lack of perception and willingness to be foolish. Everything in creation points to a Creator. A Creator must have 3 aspects in order to be the Creator. He must have Will (we know that as Father God). He must have thought or logic (We know that as God the Son) and He must have agency or presence or some way of acting on the Will and the Thought and that is God the Spirit. If you think that the universe and all that exists is the result of a cosmic burp you are too foolish to post on SW.
Imsleepy · 31-35
Are you trying to make your own version of the watchmaker argument? I was inclined to give you more credit than that. My mistake. I don’t think we can really carry on when you’re just going to ignore science. @hippyjoe1955
Khonsu · 26-30, M
@hippyjoe1955 That’s not projecting, shit talking unknown people’s family life is projecting. What i said is a mere observation. Also you’re one to talk, throughout our previous exchange not once did you talk about the actual topic.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Imsleepy And you believe in the cosmic belch theory? wow.
Khonsu · 26-30, M
@hippyjoe1955 Theory founded by a catholic priest 💀
