Why does everyone believe in God

I was brought up with prayer, and it's always been important to me to pray. Therefore I believe in God. How I would define those beliefs has changed over the years but as long as I can pray, the exact content of the belief doesn't matter.

@ServantOfTheGoddess Writing god with a capital 'G' usually means the christian one. Sorry if I misunderstood.
