FACTS vs the word of god. When truth matters , which do you pick
I noticed several believers keep denying solid, tested , irrefutable scientific evidence , simply because it’s not biblically acceptable. Not just evolution, but the fossil record, geology, cosmology, biology, etc. they never give a reason . We’re just supposed to accept it’s wrong , god’s word is the only thing that counts. Even when god doesn’t know WTF he’s talking about. I also noticed, they don’t feel the need to enlighten the rest of us as to why we should ignore the evidence.

Always amuses me how ignorant people post things like this because they never understand the nature of science and the nature of faith. They swallow the 19 century misconceptions that silence and faith are somehow at loggerheads rather than seeing the purpose of both and that they think that because they can point to the mechanism they can dispense with the agency. What of course they show is their own narrowness and paucity of outlook, poor things. As Chesterton said when people stop believing in God they don’t believe in nothing they believe in anything. You’ll find people like this believe in any old nonsense that comes along whether factual or not. It’s really quite laughable to hear them rant on
@Mathers But you're holding up something, the multiverse, that no scientist has said definitively exists. Because they can't. That's why words like "may" and "could" are used. Evolution, Big Bang, cosmology and microbiology do have experimental evidence or are the tools to achieve proof. They're entirely different. What does the word "faith" mean? It's all about belief, right? Evidence not required. Which means it's in direct opposition to science and facts. I don't believe in god. I do believe in science tasked with attaining the best possible evidence. So it's hardly about believing in "anything."
I’ve just seen a whole book which makes as a case for the Multiverse. All imaginative nonsense . Science does not achieve the best possible evidence where God is concerned because it can’t@Ynotisay
@Mathers well, that’s what is so great about science. I don’t know if the multiverse actually exist or not. But the same thing can be said about Heaven and Hell. You don’t really believe one in the clouds and the other one underground do you ? Sooner or later science can prove what’s real and what’s not. Religions started out as a wild idea after all.
@Mathers What evidence is there for god ? You have to have evidence, before it tested and studied. What do you expect them to find by looking at the Bible ?
I don’t need to give an evidence for God any more than I need to give evidence there is a creator for the software we are using, you need to prove there isn’t one. If you had any logic you would see that but unfortunately you are very lacking in that@DocSavage
@Mathers The question is academic. Even if you believe god exist, there are other things in life. As any Atheist will tell you. Even if you could prove evolution is false. It doesn’t make god true. Science examines evidence, by your own admission, there is no testable evidence for god. You want people to simply take your word for it. Lack of credible evidence is a perfectly valid reason for not believing. It’s also reasonable and rational to pursue evidence of alternatives to god when they’re practical. Just compare the records of faith healers, to modern medicine.
The problem is your whole approach is unscientific in that you don’t examine the evidence. You take some Half Baked nonsense and believe that. You believe anything you like whether the record says or not. You are absolutely ridiculous in the argument you bring in. You can’t compare the records of faith healers to modern medicine because everyone treated with modern medicine dies@DocSavage
WTF ? You keep say there’s no evidence, then you ignore it. Do you have any practical reason for claiming that people believe nonsense, simply because they reject a two thousand year old Jewish book of fables ?
@Mathers what evidence is that ? You keep saying it’s there, but you never say what it is. If you would give people an example, people would know what you’re talking about. Is it Genesis , with the flat earth and firmament ? Talking snakes , talking donkeys ? The flood that never happened ? Walking on water ? People getting out of their graves ? There’s a lot of bullshit in that old book. If you expect people to believe in it, you’re going to have to shovel some of it out.
I note you don’t understand Genesis like you don’t understand anything at all. If you understood Jewish literature you would understand these things. You are a complete and utter materialist and will believe any old nonsense. Of course there is no problem with people getting out of graves of the supernatural God he’s working as he created everything and he’s not bound by his own laws. It’s only people like us who are bound by the laws of nature. I can’t see why you can’t get that into your head.@DocSavage
@Mathers It says the earth is flat That there is a crystal dome over it That it is surrounded by water , above and below Adam and Eve = A golem and a transgender clone A snake talked . A donkey talked The entire world was underwater for at least a year. We haven’t even made it to the New Testament yet. Have any of these been proven to have any truth to them ?
Interesting how ignorant people always get the wrong end of the stick. Interesting how ignorant people always talk about things they know nothing about as if they were experts. @DocSavage
@Mathers you haven’t read the old book have you ? The best you can come up with is a quote from Chesterton , which you take out of context.you obviously haven’t a clue what people are talking about.
You obviously haven’t read anything have you. You haven’t read any archaeology theology or science at all apart from the little snippets you read off the Internet. But ignorance is bliss for people like you@DocSavage
