It used to irritate me when people bring up their god in their wishes for me

And they do it so much over here.

But it is their way to show gratitude, other times to feel like they are making a difference .

They need it, their hope to keep going, their meaning. They need their thoughts and prayers even if it is possibly insignificant.

So I mostly silently accept them unless they are too pushy and annoying. Some don't know when and where to stop, everything becomes an outlet for their self reassurance instead of listening, experiencing what others are going through.

I know though it is difficult having to create reasons just to survive. It is even more difficult not to lose the sense of otherness in a physical world that overpower us in every way.

One of reasons why I never vent to anyone closed to me. They always mention I am depressed because I am astray from God. I didn't pray and commiting sins, etc. God will guide me and help to cure my depression if I do what He said. Like that would work out. Maybe if I have faith, I would. But I don't. I have no interest on Him.

I wouldn't mind going to Hell but of course I don't think they gonna like me if they listening me saying that.

Have a blessed day. Also, may I interest you in a pocket bible?

@Miram I'll ply Christian book stores in search of scripture more ornate than yours

@deadgerbil get Eastern Christian books. The Western ones look boring. Coptic and Armenian bibles are usually beautiful.

@basilfawlty89 They put lot of efforts into the art and I love that. Because I do feel that art represents individual spiritual experiences way more than the content.

You are a tolerant and kind person. If you believed in a Creator of supernatural endlessness He would be real proud right. If you did I mean you may be right out I may be wrong or could be we are both half right. The thought of a joyful after life like of keeps me honest and content. I remember how pissed I was when my age jap slapped me. I'm nearing the day when I wake up dead and I don't get to play anymore. And all this time and those times I worked hard to behave almost had integrity but if no one is looking hahahaha kidding. I've got to behave I can't run fast enough or long enough to get away. They would just walk over and catch me before I got past the bumper of the car. I went to religious schools but I don't practice. After 8th grade I started skipping mass but when I joined the military I started going to mass to get me away from the drill instructor. Then when I got over there and it seemed like you could quite possibly bite the bullet literally, well it's true there are no atheists in a fox hole.a anyway I talk a lot huh y'all...
Miram · 31-35, F
@kentex35 I grew up in war. Believing or not believing makes no difference .

There are atheists in warzones, not everyone behaves the same when their lives are threatened.

Just like two people can go through the exact same traumatic experience, and yet one has PTSD and the other doesn't. We process reality differently.

I guess that feeling of running out of time and death approaching. We never know who will be gone first, we never have guarantees. And we can never really cheat death.

A part of me does consider the possibility of a creator out there. So I am not sure whether it is really tolerance or just knowing people like I know myself.

@iamelijah Yes, too many would react that way .

Back when my heart illness was very sever, people thought it is witchcraft.

So they would read verses on the water and bring it to me. It was madness.

They even brought me an Imam to pray for me.

Yes, read the intent, the heart, don't judge the world view. I cross cultures all the time as I'm sure you do and find my challenge is more with conspiracies - I have to dodge the conspiracy and see the person. It's the more aggressive world view in this day and age.

I'm not religious, but I'm fine with mentions of God in wishes for me as long as it's not done passive aggressively (which I have heard before).
