Interesting Experience in Home Depot
I was in Home Depot Friday, and I helped a man load a bathroom vanity onto a cart. It was not too heavy, but it was large, awkward to load, and I don't mind giving someone a helping hand if I can. I believe in karma, what goes around comes around. If you help someone, then I think you are likely to receive it when you need it, and least expect it.
The man was a nice guy, around 35-40, and we chatted a little bit after we grabbed the vanity. He asked me if I was a Christian and if he could pray for me. I live in the Dallas / Ft Worth Texas area, it's the belt buckle of the Bible belt. Most people don't do this, but even though this kind of behavior is uncommon, it is not odd. Anyhow, he wanted to know what prayers I wanted answered, I was reluctant to tell a stranger personal details about my life, so I told him that I would like good health and a good life.
He reached over and put his hand on my shoulder, and started praying, asking the Lord to give me 'good health and a good life'. Then, he responded by saying, "He will help me with pain in my lower back and money". After he finished I asked him about the lower back and he said it was about me and not him, that the Lord told him I had pain my lower back. He did not know this, and it's not something I normally talk to people about. But I have a pinched nerve in my lower back (L4-L5) that causes numbness in my left leg and left foot. My neurologist said that I have lost about 50-70 percent of the strength in my left leg.
I was surprised that this stranger made this comment. I told him about my injuries, and he said he knew, because the Lord told him. He had to be told this, because he did not know, otherwise. I told this man that he was a kind person, thanked him, and walked away.
Five minutes later, I was walking down an aisle. I looked ahead and saw some trash on the floor. I got closer and I saw a dollar bill. I bent over to pick it up and I found eight, one dollar bills, folded over in half. I looked around and did not see anyone that may have lost it, so I kept the money.
I don't have money issues, but I bought a new car last month, and I have a car payment for the first time in several years. I have more money going out, and I am saving less than I normally do.
I think it was interesting, that I found 8 dollars. Eight, is considered a lucky number in Asia. It's a number of abundance, and prosperity.
It was an interesting experience. You never know who you may meet. There are some remarks in the Bible about meeting angels on the road, and coming across them, when you don't realize it.
I don't think this guy was an angel, but he was a nice guy with a special Gift.
But, I wonder if we ever come across angels in disguise, waiting for us to 'pass a test' or if they exist on our level temporarily to observe us.
Just a a few ideas... anyhow, it was a good day.
