The Authenticity of the Bible [Spirituality & Religion]

~~~❤~~~
Early in Genesis after Adam and Eve sinned, God made known His plan of redemption, which He repeatedly promised and expanded upon throughout the Old Testament. The promises were fulfilled in a surprising but predicted way: by the Savior’s sacrificial death and subsequent resurrection, as recorded in the New Testament. The Bible then announced the future fulfillment of the Savior’s redemptive work in Revelation.
Both the Bible and history weave together in seamless harmony, as though the Creator ordained this plan and recorded it in Scripture even before it unfolded in history. And that’s exactly what the Bible claims took place! God says that He alone can declare the future (Isaiah 42:9), and hundreds of His prophetic predictions have been fulfilled with absolute precision, while others await fulfillment.
The unity of Scripture demonstrates its supernatural inspiration. Only the one true, holy God could provide us with such a flawless Bible that reveals such a matchless message: the Lord’s staggering love for His creation.
Seven Compelling Evidences Confirm the Bible Is True
1. God’s Character
2. Claims of Divine Authorship
3. Unity of the Bible
4. Fulfilled Prophecy
5. Scientific Accuracy
6. Archaeological Finds
7. Life-Changing Power
People often accuse the Bible of being full of contradictions. However, when the supposed contradictions are carefully examined, the conflict dissolves.
We shouldn't get so wrapped up in the authenticity of the Bible, that we miss the real purpose in having it transcribed...to spread the word about the saving grace of Jesus for all mankind.
Jesus didn't come to put a band-aide on everything, nor to be a gift-horse. He came for a much more important cause. To save souls from Hell. Don't put God in a box of your own making and rules. Behind every supposed biblical "error" there is a powerful truth waiting to be found.
the bible is true because it says in the bible ....
That is the only "evidence" that the bible is true.
Those of us able to think for ourselves know it's just a collection of fairy stories intended to keep the masses oppressed.
@Caroline259: Whether you want to believe it or not, is truly between you and God, as it is such a personal thing. That's because only the Holy Spirit can change a heart and mind, or give understanding of the Word. I can think of many reasons why I believe in God, but one stands out above all the rest, and leaves no doubt whatsoever that God is real. My own personal encounter with him. It was then I knew for sure.
We're not to lean to our own understanding, as we are not wiser nor smarter than God. The Bible says there's a way that seems right to man, but the end thereof is death. Spiritual death.
@JustaFriend: It's not between me and (your) god because "God" is just a figment of your imagination, not of mine. I don't need imaginary friends like that.
You are so right, Kuron. Straight from God's own mouth. And He cannot lie.
@Caroline259: What makes you think he's imaginary?
@Caroline259: exactly lol..I was being sarcastic
@JustaFriend: what makes you think he's real..apart from the fact that you were told by someone else?
If God had used an imaginery person to make his point, Job would have learned nothing. Odd that thousands around the world would worship an imaginery God and receive healing, salvation, and transformed lives. Could they all be dillusional? Seems less likely to me. I don't think God is real. I know He is, because of how he saved me from death and transformed my life. I've seen many transformed, as well. A severe alcoholic transformed in a minute and never touched another drop....my own pastor. You can't see air, either, but you have enough faith to breathe it in to stay alive. Who made you see? Common sense here.
@JustaFriend: I've seen people die...what's your point?
@JustaFriend: it's amazing what charlatans can make people believe and feel.
@Kuronekko: We're trying to have a respectful discussion here. I haven't called you any names. I expect the same in return.
@JustaFriend: There is no independent evidence to support the hypothesis that the christian god is real.
Some children stop believing in Santa Claus as they grow up. I stopped believing in "God".
@JustaFriend: I didn't call you anything lol..?
@Kuronekko: You didn't call me a charlatan above? Better look again.
@Caroline259: There is lots of evidence if one wants to pursue it.
@Caroline259: Why did you stop believing in God?
@Kuronekko: You're assuming I was told by someone. You didn't answer my question. What makes you think he's imaginery?
Caroline259 · 56-60, F
@JustaFriend: If you have evidence to support your hypothesis, produce it.
I stopped believing in your god when I was old enough to understand it wasn't real. That was when I was about 6.
@Caroline259: Are you avoiding my question? I asked you why you stopped believing in God.
I have plenty of evidence, but it takes faith to please God. Even Thomas knew Jesus and saw him in person, yet doubted him, until Jesus showed him the scars from the nails they drove in his hand when they nailed Him to the cross. Jesus said to Thomas..."You have seen me, that's why you believe, but blessed are those who have not seen Me, yet believe!"
@JustaFriend: Why would it be true...out of all the stuff people believe, why is this the one true thing? Do you not think that everyone from every religion feels the same way you do about their god? I'm sorry but I require proof, I'm not one for blindly following based on a feeling in my heart lol.
Caroline259 · 56-60, F
@JustaFriend: I'm not avoiding the question. I stopped believing in your god because there is absolutely no evidence to support the hypothesis that it exists.
Do you believe in Santa Claus? If not, why not?
@Kuronekko: Thank you. That is a very intelligent question. Yes, they do! So the first thing one must look at are all the religions and their belief systems. What is the difference between Christianity and other religions?
I feel it is the extreme religions that is the problem. Religion is man-made philosophies. That's why they don't work. Even the great evangelist, Billy Graham, attests to Christians being called upon by the Lord, to spread the good news of the saving grace of Jesus, so all will know where their salvation comes from.
In religions, you have man creating his own God. That's idolatry.
In religion, you have man trying to earn his salvation by "good works".
While Jesus tells us it is only by grace through faith, that we're saved.
No other religions have a living God, that hears prayers and answers.
In addition, none of the other gods died on the cross for our sins. Jesus did.
In religions, there is rhetoric or rituals that have to be closely adhered to.
Other religions are about man trying to reach up to God.  Christianity is about God reaching down to man.
When you practice "religion", your relationship with God is degraded to a mathematical formula. Do this, then do this, don’t do that, then presto. . . you are right in the eyes of God.  This is totally missing the point. God doesn't want robots. That's why he gave us free will. He wants so much more for you. He wants to have a real, personal relationship with you. He wants to show his love to you and He wants you to love Him.
It is true that the devil “believes” in God. That is, he believes God exists. But this is a far cry from the kind of faith we are called to have. To truly believe in God means to trust Him. In other words, we not only believe He exists, but we actually make that commitment to love and turn away from our sins, and trust Him to save us through Jesus Christ.
@JustaFriend: you are still following another humans idea of god. if there is one, you can't assume you know what he wants or thinks you should be doing or not doing.
