How does fasting help in attaining higher states of consciousness?

I know that itself is consciousness because our bodies need break, we're not meant to eat everyday. But what's the relation with higher dimensions
SW-User
I heard if you starve yourself long enough . You’ll see God

@SW-User yes I've heard that too

@SW-User Unless, of course, you won't.

As a nutritional expert, this is mostly a myth. With that being said, if you stop eating, something most people do normally do everyday, your body (and your mind) is going to shift to accommodate the change. That "shift" makes it seem like you are literally on another dimension. The human body though is "set-up" to process food each day on a cycle.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Well, I have a familiarity with software engineering... as it turns out.
@MarkPaul Sure. Because you claim to be an expert in everything.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow What are you on about now? I don't claim to be an expert on "everything."

Uhh... I have no idea who the hell is teaching you that you aren't meant to eat every day, but that person(s) is dead wrong. We need food to survive. Animals of all kinds eat every day, except sloths. Most of them eat multiple times a day. Just because we're human doesn't mean that our eating needs are different from our primal ancestors.

@SW-User i feel good when i don't eat, it get the toxins out of the body... I can kinda feel like I'm getting cleansed on a cellular lvl.. The more you engage in sensory deprivation, or fasting, the more you become sensitive to things that you never felt
SW-User
@Hassan I do not agree with that. That's a dangerous way to do things. You're denying your body critical calories, vitamins, and minerals by doing so.
Hassan · 22-25, M
@SW-User it's just 2 days a month,or once.. Eating could lead to obesity and diabetes.. I know the key is listening to your body, there are days when i wake up feeling like i don't need to eat
I personally think fasting per se is not really all big of a deal and it is more about giving your body a break from the processed food crap we shovel down on a daily basis that can make you feel better with a very rudimentary diet.

Clears the sugar out of the brain. There are some doctors who believe that sugar intake is linked to dementia.

@SpiritualMan You know there are such traditions with American Indians and others that involve fasting and prayer. I believe it very well could be.

@SpiritualMan Fasting doesn't help is what i mean. It can be dangerous. Also praying to God,Jesus is pointless.

I have no idea regarding states of consciousness, but intermittent fasting can be really healthy for you.
