Do you believe in reincarnation?

Yes or No, do give your reasons to arrive at that conclusion.

“Don't you believe in flying saucers, they ask me? Don't you believe in telepathy? — in ancient astronauts? — in the Bermuda triangle? — in life after death?

No, I reply. No, no, no, no, and again no.

One person recently, goaded into desperation by the litany of unrelieved negation, burst out "Don't you believe in anything?"

"Yes", I said. "I believe in evidence. I believe in observation, measurement, and reasoning, confirmed by independent observers. I'll believe anything, no matter how wild and ridiculous, if there is evidence for it. The wilder and more ridiculous something is, however, the firmer and more solid the evidence will have to be.”

@BlueSkyKing Isaac Asimov was a science "fiction" writer...though a good one. Pls note the emphasis on the word "fiction".
But it's an argument that I am willing to indulge ...
@HakunaMatata He also was a biochemistry scientist. Nothing wrong with believing in evidence even if without a science background.

@BlueSkyKing I agree. My point is nothing is outside the realm of possibilities.

Just because we haven't had a life come out of a test tube doesn't mean life doesn't exist!
@HakunaMatata There is no science for saucers, telepathy, ancient astronauts, the triangle, and life after death. Maybe life can eventually be created but that's no evidence for reincarnation.

@BlueSkyKing well there is atleast for UFO,telepathy and reincarnation. But that would take us in a completely different direction. So let's leave it here 🙂

When the evidence is detectable, measurable, and can hold up to repeated testing, how can I deny? With UFOs, physical evidence is lacking and there’s nothing to measure or test. Also remember what the "U" stands for. As for telepathy and reincarnation, what’s is the evidence? Can anyone show it works and how it works? Why in the case of mammals an evolutionary advantage?

Link up the independent tests conducted and passed. Evidence for either would have worldwide implications. Sure don’t know of any Nobel Prizes for such research. And cell phones have eliminated the need for telepathy.
HakunaMatata · 51-55, M
@BlueSkyKing phones haven't made us smart has it. For those that have experienced a telepathic connection, they wouldn't dismiss this as nonchalantly as you do. But that's not a problem because I guess you haven't experienced it...yet.
@HakunaMatata Senses need an organ to send information to the brain. Any body part to identify? Show it works and how it works, otherwise it doesn’t work.

@BlueSkyKing You're a racist you need to be cancelled, You can't tell people what's right and wrong, you're a racist white man that needs to be cancelled. Reported for discrimination against people who believe in different things. I'm native American leave my people alone and stop telling my people what to believe in and not believe in.
@Peaceandnamaste I don’t understand this outburst. How can you tell by just my SW name my ethnicity? Assuming this makes you the racist. The beliefs that I have changed throughout my life. Based on my personal education and experience, magical thinking has no meaning. My opinion not others.

Racism is not just about skin color. Racism includes prejudice against “national or ethnic origin. Here is how the United Nations describes it:

The term “racial discrimination” shall mean any distinction, exclusion, restriction, or preference based on race, color, descent, or national or ethnic origin that has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life.
(UN International Convention on the Elimination of All of Racial Discrimination, New York, 7 March 1966)

I simply have no magical thinking based beliefs. Where is the racism?

@BlueSkyKing There's actually lots of evidence for reincarnation if you look.
@Penny If? It would the single most important discovery in the history of the world. Where is the Nobel Prize committee?
Penny · 46-50, F
@BlueSkyKing good question. if refers to if you look
@Penny What organization would you trust to test and confirm reincarnation? Science seeks a 95% threshold to a claim to be factual. Say so anecdotes are worthless.
Penny · 46-50, F
@BlueSkyKing whatever eta- so, you need an organization that you trust to think for you?
@Penny Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Independent testing and validation weeds out the fakes.
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
@BlueSkyKing I can believe anything I want mind your own business white boy, I’m Native American and I’m tired of you people trying to ruin my culture. Reported and cancelled for hate speech.
@Peaceandnamaste Why are you singling me out? The question asked for an opinion and I don’t tell anyone what to believe. My own beliefs are mine and I’ll always chose reality instead of magical based. Blame my education and experience. You’re making vast assumptions, how can you tell my ethnicity?

The "hate" quote is from a famous author and scientist. There is no mention of culture.
