It's quite obvious, people are the same now, as they were back then. After reading all these answers, I can only shake my head in disbelief.
"What I do see is God working to save mankind from his own self. Meaning man, not God." Very true. Jesus said it would be this way in the end times. Spiritual blindness abounds. Jesus is coming soon. Then let's see who calls Him "It", "her" or the "invisible sky fairy" to His face. As it is written in His Word, "Every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. Man really should get over himself, with all his arrogant, prideful attitude. Thinking he is so much smarter and wiser than God. Let's see him get to heaven on his own accord. He cannot even get past the moon, let alone reach the 3rd heaven, where God and His kingdom reside. When people have no spiritual understanding, nor want to have, of the things of God, or God Himself, they mock. All the "intellectual talk" may sound good, yet there's no understanding whatsoever of the spiritual realm... which amounts to nothing but their guessing.
God knows each and every heart. Jesus said, "The fool says in his heart, there is no God." Yet one day very soon, they'll "see" He is real, but it'll be too late. We see God everywhere. One can't miss His beautiful handiwork. We don't need proof. God already gave it. We need FAITH...that Jesus can save us from the condemnation sin brought to mankind and eternal separation from God, until we turn to Jesus, our Savior.
The one and only thing that keeps us from heaven, are our sins.
It's just the opposite. Jesus never came to condemn anyone. He came to save and He proved that on the cross. He didn't HAVE to suffer and die to pay for our sins, for you or I, so we might have heaven, but He loves us so much, He volunteered. That's not someone to be afraid of. That's someone whose love for you is so deep, it can't be measured. He went all the way, to suffer even to the point of death, to prove His love for you, and so you could have eternal life in heaven one day, if you ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins. He wants to. His sinless pure blood, washes all your sins away. God loves ALL of us. He always has and He always will. Even those who don't love Him back. He knew that would happen, and it breaks His heart that some will never come to salvation, out of pure stubbornness and pride, yet He died for them, anyway. Even for them. This is not a mean God. This is a merciful God. There's not one, mean or evil thing IN Him. HE IS WITHOUT SIN and incapable of lying. That makes Him trust-WORTHY. He turns no one away. I believe Jesus is coming very soon. I hope you'll be ready. He's only a prayer away. And He didn't leave us guessing. He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man can go to the Father, but by Me." And whom better to trust?!! He LIVES in the spiritual world. He would KNOW, not those who claim you can get to heaven by being a good person or earning your way. Or by thinking good thoughts and thinking you are your own god. Are you suddenly going to sprout wings and fly to heaven? How will you resurrect yourself??? You're smarter than that! You know it can't be done, but by the power of Jesus.
Jesus is real, he's coming soon, and he told us point blank, how to have eternal life with Him in heaven. He didn't leave us to GUESS. If you believe, you'll receive forgiveness (you can't drag your sins into heaven) and all the good things of God has prepared for you and an eternity in heaven. Turn down your one free chance to get to heaven, and your own sins will keep you separated from God.
Jesus did all the hard work of paying for your sins. All you have to do, is pray and receive Him into your heart and life as your personal Savior.

@fernie2 Lady Grace doesn’t have skeptical thinking mind thus can’t provide an answer to this question. Of course she gets best comment, she says what Godspeed wants to hear. There was no desire for discussion. This question was intended to ridicule those that doubt.
@BlueSkyKing There was nothing to be skeptical about. Nothing to answer. I already know and love God.
I answer people from my heart. Not what I think they want to hear. A true friend won't mess with people's head like that.
We're not here to assume other's motives. I've always said here, I love everyone here. I'm no better or smarter than anyone else, nor think myself higher, and I mean what I say. I simply know what I believe, and why. I think that's important to know about oneself.
The motive of any question in this forum, or not, is not always dark. It's to help the reader look beyond and challenge one's own thinking, examine their options, and understand both sides of a matter. Otherwise, we would never learn and grow. I've learned throughout my 75 years, that what I may think I know, doesn't necessarily mean I truly know, if I limit myself, and am not willing to examine both sides of a subject...the pros and cons. The whole picture.
It is difficult to make an informed decision about anything in life, if we only know and yield to one side. We also do ourselves a great injustice. For example, I never would have believed someone could be "born-again". I thought those who claimed to be, were just faking it for attention. Insecure, perhaps. That is limited thinking...when we judge before we know and examine all the facts.
It is illogical to deprive oneself of knowledge and stubbornly or pridefully conclude things are only one way, until each have examined without prejudice, both sides of a matter.
So when I did find Jesus, I was totally shocked and amazed at how unfair I had been to myself, by my own limited thinking. I learned we shouldn't knock or criticize any given thing, just because we may not understand it, because we have no real knowledge of it. I found out real quick, what a great injustice I had done myself, simply by not being willing to at least explore that which I did not understand, and that I wasn't NEAR as smart, as I thought I was.
However, to my utter amazement and shock, and without realizing such a thing was even possible, (so I wasn't looking for it...I just plain didn't know), that God is very real. When I took a good honest look at myself, I decided to get real and straight-up with God and give Him a chance to show me who He is. I talked to Him in prayer, and decided to give Him all my love and heart, instead of just half, and invited him into my life as my Savior, and that's exactly the moment he sent his Holy Spirit to cleanse, refresh, redeem, restore and transform my whole life and being. I will never forget it. My whole life was as if I was brand new, starting all over again. And it was. You can't help but experience that new (spiritual) birth, from darkness to light, when the Holy Spirit touches you, cleanses you, washes away your sins, and comes to stay with you.
God literally creates a new heart of love and peace inside you. What you're doing is accepting that your heart and spirit are tired and really dead inside, until Jesus makes our spirit come alive, with just one touch. This is not something a dead, sinful heart would or could, ever know...not until it is experienced.
The proof everyone seeks, is already there. It's just something we've not thought about or considered because we simply weren't aware. Those who never read their bible, naturally, wouldn't know of these things, unless....they either read God's Word, someone tells them, or they are seeking knowledge of Him and what He's all about. It's something we wouldn't spiritually understand, unless we experience it first-hand or in one of the above ways I just mentioned.
The "proof" therefore, is in the experience. It can't be mistaken. That's why faith is called for. Jesus fulfilled his mission on earth, then went back to his Father in heaven. Naturally, we can't experience meeting Him face-to-face, but He did leave his love and Holy Spirit in this world, should we decide to choose that lovely fellowship with Him.
His Holy Spirit is sweet and brings a peace that passes all understanding...until you invite Him into your heart and life and see for yourself. We are not only carnal beings. We have a spiritual side that must not be neglected, as well. That's why I speak of Him here. That's something I actually know and have experienced. And before I go, I want the people I love, to rest assured that God is indeed real. He's sinless, He is incapable of lying, and He wants to see everyone in the world, in heaven, where He's prepared a very lovely, sinless, ever peaceful and happy home for us. That's security. That's something we can count on. There's no lie that comes from His mouth. If there was, He couldn't claim to be God. That would make God a liar, and a stranger to heaven, because there is no sin in heaven. That's why it's called "Heaven". Because it truly is, and not one of us has to miss it. The second we say, "I believe you, Jesus. I want you as my Savior, too.", He cleanses our sins and makes our lives whole...making us fit to enter heaven, and sends His Holy Spirit to help us and guide us, as promised.
He's real. I wouldn't have bothered nor committed the last 46 years of my life to Him, if there was even a hint of doubt. He didn't leave us to guess. He came and taught, so we would know.

@LadyGrace There is plenty to be skeptical about and the question isn’t for the hardcore person like you. Then again maybe it was. How can Godspeed actually give best comment to anybody that has doubts?
Everyone in their culture in time thinks their religion has the truth. Where you are born really matters the most for which religion you have. What happened in your personal lifetime is anecdotal, narcissistic, and can’t be applied to the world.
Each year worldwide, nine million children die before they reach five. Most of them get to experience lots pain and terror. Their loving parents, no matter how religious, don’t get prayers answered. Can this be part of some unknowable plan? Is your God unable to act on this or just doesn’t care? The vast majority of these children, according to the Bible, are going straight to hell. Though no fault of their own, they were born in a different cultures and their parents worship the wrong gods. So are the 1.4 billion people living in India, almost all Hindu pantheists, equally doomed to hell. The vast of the population past, present, and future never can achieve the heaven promoted to be so peaceful and happy. They either never knew or didn’t buy it.
God is good beyond imagination? Merciful? Any murdering child rapist can "find" Jesus just before his execution and be rewarded with heaven. Call that justice? A god that allows the magnitude of suffering in the world is not loving but an evil deity. Stating mysterious ways isn’t just an excuse, it’s a cop out.
There is no evidence of heaven or hell. The universe looks exactly like no god exists

@BlueSkyKing How refreshing to read something that makes perfect sense.
