Do you realize this whole mess could have been avoided if god had simply put up a fence.?
Eve couldn’t have gotten the fruit off the tree. There would be no fall, no sin, no need for nail Jesus up ,no need for the second coming , no rapture.
All for a lack of a few yards of chicken wire.

@DocSavage Eve was set up. God is supposed to be omniscient so he would have known what was going to happen. He could have put the tree somewhere else or, as you say, put a fence around it. The fact that he didn't and, furthermore, had denied Eve the ability to know right from wrong is proof he set her up.

@Sharon Or he did know and let it all happen.

@BlueSkyKing I doubt it. He would have known before he even put the tree there so it wasn't a matter of just letting it happen. By putting the tree there he facilitated it.

True. I was reminded how fragile the whole Bible bit is.
You have evolution, you have No Adam and Eve . Which means they didn’t sin, and fall from grace. Which means we didn’t need redemption, and Jesus was just another heretic who got nailed to another cross. Which means there was no resurrection and won’t be a second coming and rapture. Which means Carazaa is in for a big disappointment.
Pull one little thread, and the whole thing unravels.

@DocSavage Which is why creationists have to defend every ridiculous fiction they’ve invented and added and modified for a couple of thousand years

@Carazaa Given the thousands of different gods that have been postulated over time, and given the tens of thousands of different sects grovelling to those gods, and given the complete lack of any compelling necessity to even postulate them in the first place, you really need to expect to be wrong. As a consolation prize... you’ll never know you were wrong 😀

What if I’m wrong ? I am no better or worse off than i am now.
If god exist, then he will take me as I am. There is no point in going through the motions if you don’t believe in it. And god would know if I was faking it. A honest god would have to take into account modern times, and would understand the skepticism. Punishing people for it would be unfair under the circumstances.

Yes you do. If you read and believe in the King James Version of the bible, you already know you’re reading the altered text. You’re taking a chance that the message survived the numerous translations and edits. Your main source is incomplete, and that’s just assuming you picked the right religion to begin with. As I said, you roll the dice. You land on the square. That doesn’t guarantee you win the game.

@Carazaa Would a loving God condemn people to eternal torment just because of honest doubt or total ignorance? Or show mercy because they follow their parents beliefs? Looks like rules are rules.
