Is Jeremiah 26:3 inconsistent with the idea of an all-knowing God? [Spirituality & Religion]

Perhaps they will listen and each will turn from their evil ways. Then I will relent and not inflict on them the disaster I was planning because of the evil they have done.

Does God not know if the people will turn from their evil ways?
If he does know then why suggest the conditional reaction on his part to a potential action by the people?

This is the same God that allowed all of Job's family to be killed because they were related to Job, not because of anything that they themselves had done. Not even because of anything that Job had done... Why? To prove a point to Satan that Job would love God no matter what happened. To SATAN?? Since when should God have to prove anything to Satan anyway?????????

But all ended well. God gave Job a new sexy wife and more kids. Pity about the old ones... :(
@walabby

Yeah Job is kind of a fucked up story.
