I'm convinced that a lot of people that have children can't take care of them. I think that to reduce suffering, abortion is sometimes necessary, sometimes not. But children cost money and time, people are careless.

@SatanBurger Very true that some people should not have kids, but does that mean the children should not have another parent or have life?

@Carazaa If they're going to have massive complications I believe it's the kind thing to do.
@Carazaa Only if society will provide assistance. You’re basically on your own in the US because we hate kids in this country.

@LeopoldBloom that is so sad!

@LeopoldBloom I am not sure I agree that Americans hate kids. I am sad that many are suthoritarian parents though which results in rebellious teens. And because the country is so huge many kids dont have enough family support from grandparents, aunt, and uncles which is sad. Kids need grandparents.
@Carazaa Let me clarify. Of course parents love their own kids. What I'm saying is that as a society, we don't like kids in general. We don't offer benefits like day care, maternity leave, prenatal care, or other benefits that are taken for granted in other countries. About the only benefits we have for children are welfare for the very poorest people, and free public schools, and conservatives want to get rid of those, too.

@LeopoldBloom OK I agree to a point. There are free preschools,free school aftercare, maternity leave, family leave, prenatal care and prenatal leave in california and inmost other places in the USA but maybe not as extensive as in Scandinavia.
@Carazaa California is a blue state. You don't find those same benefits in red states. The US is the only developed country without paid maternity leave.

If you're wondering why the birth rate in the US is going down, it's because people can't afford to have children. Fortunately, we're not in any danger of falling population as people are still eager to emigrate here, mostly from Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
