@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow doesn't surprise me. I've never liked him and his buddy Sam Harris is a right wing Islamophobe. I have no problem with Atheists, but I can't stand "New Atheists"/Antitheists.

@basilfawlty89 Same here. Harris has also kind of fallen into the right wing "intellectual" fad of declaring himself a philosopher too ala Stephen Molyneux.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow it's also no accident that many of the militant atheist YouTubers started instead to attack feminism and "SJWs" and that leads to watching stuff like Molyneux and Alt-Right crap.

@basilfawlty89 Oh absolutely. And with the way the youtube algorithm works you could easily find yourself eventually all the way to Richard Spencer and Steven MacNeil with the autoplay "feature" if you are not careful.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow coincidentally that's what happened with a former close friend of mine. Was a normal guy, bit edgy, bullied in high school and rejected by women, but typically a decent guy, bit watched all those videos and steadily went further right. When I stopped being friends with him, he was full on Alt-Right.

The irony is he wants a white ethnostate, but doesn't realise he'd be kicked out as he's Middle Eastern.

@basilfawlty89 Yikes. Had the same thing happen with me and a friend. I managed to pull him partway out a hole. He went from fascist skinhead to a Jordan Petersen right wing self help fan so better but not great.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow One of my oldest friends of 40+ years went down the Alex Jones rabbit hole and still hasn't emerged, he's gone full on right wing, gun toting, racist wingnut, think QAnon Shaman minus the horns. We don't even talk anymore sadly as I can't stand his blabbering on about "Muzzies" and "Mud People".
