That they supported the idea at [b]any[/b] point in their lives while contemporaries did not is significant, especially WEB DuBois because he [b]knew[/b] that white doctors, especially in the South, were regularly sterilizing Native and African American girls and women without their knowledge or consent.

@bijouxbroussard so what were you trying to say? At first I thought you were normalizing the belief of eugenics, since all these decent, well respected people bought into it, but now it seems you're saying the opposite: anyone ever tainted with eugenicism is basically bad

@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP I guess what I’m saying is that it’s a complicated issue. They were all widely respected but apparently had their reasons for supporting eugenics. And while it [b]didn’t[/b] have the stigma then that it came to, especially after the Nazis adopted certain practices, it was still considered a way of being rid of those considered “lesser” or “defective” beings.
