The Bible is undeniably a sexist book. It constantly devalues and objectifies women. Is it hard to be a bible-believing Christian and a modern woman? [Spirituality & Religion]

You are misinformed! God didn't curse man for no reason! Obviously those atheist websites are confusing you! The Bible is about the evil of man and Gods standards to love. The reason for the flood and the curse on mankind and the reason why Jesus came to save us is because we fall short of Gods standards.

The most equality in the world are the Scandinavian countries. They have been Christian for a 1000 years! Working women, equal pay, no abuse! The most abused women are in the atheistic countries, and the Muslim countries of the middle east, Africa, Russia, China, North Korea. The Bible has the highest standards for people.

Women of the Bible

Deborah in the Bible was a judge! A strong Godly woman who used her intelligence and wisdom to help Israel.

Esther used her intelligence and beauty to seduce King Xerxes to save the entire country from being killed, in THE BOOK OF ESTHER! It is a smart woman who uses her beauty for good!

Miriam, Moses sister was very intelligent and outsmarted King Pharaoh to see and raise her brother who lived in Pharaohs courts.

Sarah was a strong woman and much loved by Abraham, and treated like a queen.

Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist, was old but her faithfulness to the Lord and her faith brought answered prayers. Being a mother and a wife is very honorable. It takes as much intelligence or more than any profession.

Priscilla was a church leader, who influenced the church to spiritual purity.

Mary of Bethany hosted Jesus. It is honorable to host people in our homes. Jesus complemented her on her devotion.

Jehosheba was a brave daughter of the King Jehoram and stole a baby to save his and many others life.

And here is a description of a Godly wife. A wife is worth more than rubies. A ruby is worth a million dollars, more than a diamond.

The Wife of Noble Character according to the Bible she works hard, travels for work, has servants, and buys real estate, and is loved.

" A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate." Proverbs 31

Nah. I'm just looking at the whole of the bible instead of cherry picking the scarce handful of rare counter examples.

1) Even in your own examples, many of those women are valued for who they are married to and their beauty or their children.
Not particularly empowering for a modern woman.
2) These women are the exception to how women are valued in the bible.
3) Thank you for making my point with proverbs 31. It is not the desire or value for many modern women to be "godly" in the way described here.
You think it's an empowering passaged to share that a woman is a godly woman if she works her fingers to the bone to keep house and feed children? It's 2021, that's not the value of a woman nor her purpose.

This is kind of like saying "No, the Egyptians respected their slaves. Look! Pharaoh made Joseph his right hand man! Salves in Egypt were well-regarded!"
Or
"No, the Egyptians thought highly of the Israelites, look, Moses was a commander in Egypt!".

These are examples notable by their rarity and exception to the rule.

@Pikachu Joseph was a slave and he was treated great, yeah. But my point and I think the Bibles entire point is that most people then and now need Jesus because we treat each other terrible. That IS why we need Jesus!

Well as long as your point wasn't that women are actually well-treated and respected as equals as a rule in the bible, then you can say we need as much Jesus as you like.
Because i think Jesus did do a better job of that in the NT. While he never tried to actually make a feminist case, at least he seemed to make the case that we're all garbage people and a woman no more or less.
