The Delusion of Atheism [Spirituality & Religion]

The main delusion of atheism is that its followers believe that it exists.

They are deluded into believing that no gods exist, yet they have their own gods that they worship and put their faith in.

They can't understand that there is only one true God, Yahweh, who has revealed Himself to mankind through His Spirit and through His Word, yet they try their darnedest to discredit Him and His Word instead of taking time to understand Him and His Word.

They keep claiming they have evidence for their type of science that evolution happened instead of God, Yahweh, creating the heavens and the earth but fail to produce evidence so far. They, however, have shown evidence that intelligent design happened instead but still claim it's evolution.

They mock, ridicule, and insult hoping that these actions will set them above those who believe, on the contrary, the opposite happens and their mocking, ridiculing, and insults fall back on them. Plus, these actions prove that they have no such evidence to support their claims in that evolution happened or that God, Yahweh, doesn't live.

"They are deluded into believe that no gods exist, yet they have their own gods that they worship and put their faith in."

No, they lack the belief that gods do exist.

@BohemianBoo What gods do atheists have?
@Entwistle By definition, none.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@Entwistle @LeopoldBloom
By definition, none.
By definition, everyone of them except the one true God, Yahweh.
@GodSpeed63 Atheists don't believe in any gods.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@BohemianBoo
Atheists don't believe in any gods.
It doesn't mean they don't have any gods, in which case, makes them skeptics and not atheists.
@GodSpeed63 Depends what you mean by having gods. Atheists have things they care about, if that's what you mean. But doesn't everyone?
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo Believing in a God requires faith, accepting the existence of a God without having conformable evidence. Believing for example, that palaeontology provides a timeline of animal development is based on evidence, therefore, it's not a God. Regardless of what some may falsely claim.
@Bushranger That's why I asked what GodSpeed63 means. It seems like he means "having a god" is just caring about things. Which is obviously a dumb comparison to faith in a supernatural figure.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@BohemianBoo Yep, couldn't agree more. I was just giving an example in support of what you were saying.

@BohemianBoo
Depends what you mean by having gods. Atheists have things they care about, if that's what you mean. But doesn't everyone?
Yes we do. I'm talking about idols that takes place, instead of the living God, in your heart. Sure, we have things we care about, but, when those things become idols, that's when we start to worship them in our hearts instead of the living God. God created mankind to love and worship Him. So, we have the trait of worship within us and will worship either the living God or idols.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@GodSpeed63 If by idol you mean something that is taken purely on faith and never questioned, then I'd be inclined to agree with you. That, after all, is the basis of all religious beliefs, even your own.

On the other hand, believing something based on empirical evidence is not faith, and that thing believed in is not an idol.
@GodSpeed63 So really, you were just saying Atheism has gods as a way to make Atheism sound just as silly as religion.
Religious people do this a lot, because they can't defend religion with logic. So all they can do is pretend Atheism is also illogical, which it isn't.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@BohemianBoo
So really, you were just saying Atheism has gods as a way to make Atheism sound just as silly as religion.
No, atheism is dead in the ground along with its followers. Skeptics are dead above ground and follow every type of false god or idol whenever they can. Man made organized religions are similar in that they too have false gods which is why, Yahweh, the one true God hates them. We were never created to worship God through religious practices but through relationship in love for Him and for each other.
@GodSpeed63 Well, there are hundreds of thousands of gods that people have worshiped around the world and throughout history. But I'm sure that yours is real.

@GodSpeed63 Another cut and paste.

Where?
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@GodSpeed63 Oh dear, I made a mistake. Thank you for pointing it out. It should have been copy and paste.

Definition of atheist
: a person who does not believe in the existence of a god or any gods : one who subscribes to or advocates atheism
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@KaraLuvz He's listened to some fundamentalist preachers who claim that Atheists substitute, for example, a belief in god with a belief in evolution. Not being willing to consider anything outside his narrow religious belief, @GodSpeed63 will never be able to accept the error in what he has been told.
KaraLuvz · 46-50, T
@Bushranger you are right it’s that kind of thinking that lead to the inquisitions
Carazaa · F
@BohemianBoo They don't proclaim to worship, but they worship nevertheless. They worship their idols of "science, wealth, mockery, politics, themselves, Satan, and reptiles."
SarahAndSamantha · 46-50, F
@Carazaa reptiles?!?
Carazaa · F
@SarahAndSamantha Sure, reptiles!

ROMANS 1
8The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
