science actually proves God's existance.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@DeluxedEdition Science never tries to prove anything, has no interest whatsoever in postulations about magical entities. Such postulations are unfalsifiable, and carry no explanatory power. They are convenient fictions.
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@newjaninev2 karen, there is literally a mathematical formula that expresses the existence of God. 🤷‍♀️
Allelse · 36-40, M
@newjaninev2 Good answer.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@DeluxedEdition Gödel’s ‘proof’ rests on five axioms, yet he gave no reasons for accepting those axioms as true... therefore the ontological proof fails
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@newjaninev2 atheists act like christians are unreasonable
robot: very complex creature with all features with functions that serve a purpose - was created by a human

human: very complex living breathing comprehending organism with functions all the way down to a molecular level that all serve a specific purpose including the ability to have consciousness, emotions, and make memories. - was created by an explosion.... in a time when not even time existed much less energy or even space

yeah were the unreasonable ones😹👌
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@DeluxedEdition Do you think that humans formed whole and functional at the moment of the Big Bang?

Really?
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@newjaninev2 you actually think we evolved from creatures and molecules that are still presently inhabiting this planet today? 🤨
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@DeluxedEdition Again you misrepresent evolution.

All species that are, and ever have been, on this planet share common ancestry. In the case of humans (Homo sapiens) our most recent common ancestor is one we share with another ape, the chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes).

The two lineages diverged from their common ancestor around 6 million years ago

@newjaninev2
Again you misrepresent evolution.
That's a common creationists' trick. They can't disprove the Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection so they invent their own, deliberately flawed, theory. They then dishonestly present it as the true theory and disprove that, hoping to discredit the genuine theory.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Sharon Yes indeed... it’s so common as to be tedious. it demonstrates their impotence in the face of evidence
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 @Sharon
Yes indeed... it’s so common as to be tedious. it demonstrates their impotence in the face of evidence
What evidence would that be?
DeluxedEdition · 26-30, F
@GodSpeed63 they can never find any they just all agree with one another and to them being self riotousness is evidence
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 the evidence from which you have repeatedly fled.

Would you like to see some?
Sharon · F
@newjaninev2
Would you like to see some?
He'll just say it's wrong and run away again.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2
the evidence from which you have repeatedly fled.
If you want specifics, then give specifics.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 About what would you like specifics?

If you feel that the evidence I have repeatedly given to you (only to see you flee) is not specific enough, then identify the level of specificity that you would like to discuss.

For example, I pointed out to you that although all mammals produce their own vitamin C, primates can no longer do so (although they once could).

I mentioned that this inability was due to a genetic defect blocking production of the enzyme L-guluno-γ-lactone oxidase.

To be specific, ascorbic acid is produced from the ultimate hexose precursor D-glucose, where the pathway leading to L-gulonic acid is shared with the early part of the D-glucuronic acid pathway.

L-Ascorbic acid is formed from the intermediate L-gulonic acid through L-gulono-γ-Iactone. However, there is no activity of the terminal enzyme of the pathway, L-gulono-γ-lactone oxidase (GLO). Since all the other enzymes were shown to be active, the genetic defect in primates leads to a deficiency in GLO

Is that specific enough for you, or would you like me to take it to the molecular level?

@newjaninev2
For example, I pointed out to you that although all mammals produce their own vitamin C, primates can no longer do so (although they once could).
According to whom?
To be specific, ascorbic acid is produced from the ultimate hexose precursor D-glucose, where the pathway leading to L-gulonic acid is shared with the early part of the D-glucuronic acid pathway.
Again, according to whom?
L-Ascorbic acid is formed from the intermediate L-gulonic acid through L-gulono-γ-Iactone. However, there is no activity of the terminal enzyme of the pathway, L-gulono-γ-lactone oxidase (GLO). Again, I ask, according to whom?
Is that specific enough for you, or would you like me to take it to the molecular level?
All I know is that you don't understand science.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63
According to whom?
Stop ingesting vitamin C and see what happens to you. The same applies to every other primate.
Again, according to whom?
According to the demonstrable physical evidence

Do you understand that science doesn’t invent convenient fictions to explain evidence

The demonstrable physical evidence stands, and needs a complete, consistent, and coherent explanation.

To invent magical entities that explain nothing (not even themselves) is to accept living in abject fear and ignorance... fear of the capricious whims of those entities, and ignorance of universal realities

The last time that sort of attitude was widespread we called it the Dark Ages.

Do you miss that?

He's still living in them. :(
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@Sharon Ah, yes... the good old days...

GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2
Stop ingesting vitamin C and see what happens to you. The same applies to every other primate.
I'm not a primate, I'm made in the image and likeness of God like you are.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2
Ah, yes... the good old days...
Not even close. There's no healing without the Spirit of God dwelling in them.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 You’re a Homo sapiens, one of the family of primates known as the Great Apes.

Ignore it as you will, deny it as you will... the evidence is there for you to see, and reality doesn’t care about your need to hide from it
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2
You’re a Homo sapiens, one of the family of primates known as the Great Apes.
Not according to His Word. I'll take His over man's word any day.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 and if your god is a Great Ape..?
