For christians [Spirituality & Religion]

According to (John14:6) The way to Heaven is only through Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone. Our Lord Jesus Christ is Himself the way to Heaven. He does not merely show the way; He is the way. Salvation is only in the person of Jesus Christ.

Now imagine you grow up in a country where christianity is not the dominant religion and you’ve never heard of it. You go your entire life living according to your cultures customs and practices. You eventually die and you find yourself going to hell because of you followed the “wrong religion”

Another example, christianity is once again not the dominant religion but you are familiar with some of its teachings but you still follow the dominant religion because of you agree with it’s teachings and the various miracles you witness. You eventually die and go to hell because you followed the “wrong religion”

Hell has been described as a place of eternal damnation and torment. Emphasis on Eternal. And I reiterate, you were BORN in the wrong religion and you’re going to hell for it. Explain to me exactly how that is an appropriate punishment for believing in the wrong god?

Your concerns seem valid! However nothing much can be done. It seems even God can't help it as the rules were written without his knowledge.

@SW-User See this comic is exactly why my comment is important. If you do good you will get into heaven. You don't have to accept Jesus as a personal saviour and there is no eternal fire in the afterlife. The comic is wrong on every panel haha

@Qwerty14 😄 True. This is how believers try to convince non-believers.
@SW-User I'd out money on an atheist just not understanding religion and making that comic out of ignorance haha

According to whom?

@GodSpeed63 According to whomsoever. Rules are finally narrowed down to..'Bible'.

@Qwerty14 People have made it a complex topic. Many talk about this like experts. But fact is they all hardly know anything. I feel the comic guy seems to have a comparatively better understanding than the experts 😂
@SW-User Than the experts? No way. Experts in the fields are amazingly knowledgeable about it. I'd say the comic guy is more informed than a layman but less informed than the average Christian. Lemme make you a chart lol

--Knows fuck all--
Evangelical Baptists
Laymen
Atheists
Average Christian
Knowledgeable Christian
Christian Theologian
The Pope (or equivalent head of church)
--Knows a shit load--

I'd say the comic guy is in that atheist level. If he knew more he wouldn't have made a joke based on a common misconception of the religion.

Where do you think they get their knowledge from, Qwerty?
@GodSpeed63 I assume most experts get it from studying incredibly hard.

I'll put it this way: Where did knowledge originate from and how did man acquire the ability to use that knowledge for his benefit?
@GodSpeed63 Do you want a biblical explanation or a more literal one?

The Truth.
@GodSpeed63 Ah well the truth is a matter of opinion

Not from where I'm standing.
@SW-User
However nothing much can be done. It seems even God can't help it as the rules were written without his knowledge.

Why do you say the rules were written without God's knowledge? It was God the Father, who designed the plan of salvation and set the standard for acquiring it.
@Qwerty14
If you do good you will get into heaven. You don't have to accept Jesus as a personal saviour and there is no eternal fire in the afterlife.
How do you know that one must only be a good person or do good, in order to get into heaven? Where did you get that idea? Who set that standard, and by what authority?
@LadyGrace By God's authority in the bible. This is a thread about Christianity. Thought that bit was obvious
@Qwerty14 Of course it is. And I'm responding to your own words, which your answer contradicts in your reply to WendyR. No place in God's Word does it say that if you do good, you'll go to heaven.

It's not just about Christianity, or you wouldn't have told WendyR the following: If you do good you will get into heaven. You don't have to accept Jesus as a personal saviour and there is no eternal fire in the afterlife. So it seems that you do not believe in the authority of God, though you said you based your opinion from God's Word and authority, that only good people go to heaven.
@LadyGrace Please stop trying to twist what I say. The bible is clear about how one gets into heaven and that one doesn't have to be Christian to end up there. If you disagree with that feel free to explain why you disagree
@Qwerty14 There's no twisting what you said. I copied your own words. Yes, the bible is clear about how one gets to heaven and I never said one has to be a Christian to get there. You said one only has to be a good person in order to get to heaven. God's Word says clearly says the opposite, that one never gets to heaven by doing good works. Salvation is a gift from God. You don't earn gifts:

@LadyGrace Doing good deeds to get God's grace is not the same as being a good person.

@Qwerty14
Doing good deeds to get God's grace is not the same as being a good person.
You got that right, sister. 👍👍
@Qwerty14 Doing good works is still trying to earn God's favor. That's why many do it. To earn their way to heaven. Trying to be a good person. But God said our goodness, compared to God's perfect goodness and standards, misses the mark. Falls short of meeting God's standards for salvation. And it is He who sets these standards, not man. That is why God says in His Word, that none are righteous in God's eyes...none are good, when measured up to God's perfect standards. Then Jesus goes on to tell us how to be saved. He makes no bones about it. "Except a man be born-again, he cannot see the kingdom of heaven." How do we do that? Jesus said, we are saved by grace, through faith. Grace is unearned favor from God. A gift, for the asking. When we ask Jesus to forgive us of our sins, He is faithful to do so, and with those sins erased, we are now fit to enter the holy city of heaven and enjoy fellowship with God the Father. Because.....

Romans 8:1 ~ "There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."
@LadyGrace Godspeed gets it, why can't you haha
@Qwerty14 That's no answer, insults. No answer at all. This says nothing. If you don't agree then at least state why. Godspeed and I both "get it", whatever that means. We believe the same.
