It's interesting to watch this man talk about "evidence" and "reasonable doubt" because there is no evidence that Jesus actually existed so it is perfectly reasonable for someone to have doubts. So why does having doubts make me an evil sinner in the eyes of some? I've been told by Catholic priests that I'm going to hell because I'm not a Catholic, told by Baptist ministers that I was going to hell because I doubted the existence of Jesus. Seems to me the only consistent belief here is that I'm going to hell, so might just as well accept it, right?

Of course, all our friends will be there. Imagine an eternity in the christian heaven, surrounded by sanctimonious christians, now that would be Hell.

@Sharon It would be like a celestial North Korea, just praising the dear leader all day, every day.
Sounds more like a living Hell than paradise.
And don't get me started on the fucking music.
Kumbaya's 24/7 😱

@Sharon That may be a little unkind but understand. I've met many good people who are religious without being "sanctimonious" and were willing to listen, they weren't able to provide the answers because they had some of the same reasonable doubts. I do take exception to the sanctimonious ones who are often the loudest.

@spjennifer If the sanctimonious ones are to be believed, they'll be the only ones there. The quiet christians will be in Hell with us. Let's make them welcome.

@Sharon No guitars though!!
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@Harriet03 I think some idealize the "Kingdom of Heaven" but if we are all supposed to be equal in the eyes of God, what gives someone the right to tell me I'm going to hell but they will be going to Heaven because they've accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. So this means that a man can commit unconscionable acts yet if he repents, he goes to Heaven but little old me, just because I doubt the existence of God is going to hell?
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@spjennifer Exactly. A child murderer & rapist repents & spends eternity in "paradise" with his victims!!
Seems f***** up to me....
Sharon · F
@Harriet03 Not necessarily. The victims might be sent to Hell if they haven't repented.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@Sharon Those evil pesky 5yr olds!!
spjennifer · 56-60, T
@Sharon & @Harriet03 Agreed, it is very fucked up to me that someone could be forgiven for a Murder but OMG, those fucking Homos and Lesbos are all going to burn in Hell! That's how nonsensical and xenophobic most of the hardcore Evangelicals are as in "I'm going to live forever in Heaven but you're all going to burn in Hell" Sounds more like a Fraternity than a Religion...

God desires that none be lost but come to saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We are all lost from the moment of accountability to accepting Christ as Lord and Savior. Those who wish to go to hell will leave God no choice but to grant their desires and allow them to go there. They have no clue of what hell is like until it's too late to change their mind.

@GodSpeed63 So child victims, mixing with their abusers is cool then?

Unless they repent, their not cool.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
@GodSpeed63 Doesn't sound much like paradise for the kids!!
@GodSpeed63 You said that God wants all of us to be saved. But if I don’t want to be saved, God will give me what I want and send me to hell. That would make me stronger than God, because in this battle of wills, I win if I can just hold out until my death.

@GodSpeed63
will leave God no choice
That confirms @LeopoldBloom is right, we are more powerful that your god.

Not sure what fucked up view of God you have but I was raised as a Christian and even if I have doubts about God's existence, this whole repenting crap is asinine. I seriously doubt that God would punish an uninformed child for not "repenting" the sins they haven't committed. If this is what you believe, then I'd want no part of that, or of any God who would even remotely begin to think that way.
Carazaa · F
@LeopoldBloom It's not winning to go to hell!

Not going to happen though. It's just a made up place to scare christians into doing as they're told.

Where's your case, Sharon, to support what you claim is true. Present it please or forfeit. No dodging this time.
@GodSpeed63 If hell exists, please provide its precise physical location.
