The common belief of the Christian appears to be that when you die you go straight to heaven. Actually you're dead in the ground until Judgement Day. [Spirituality & Religion]
There are a couple folks like Moses and Elijah who are up there already but by and large you stay dead until the second coming.
So where did the idea come from that you go straight to heaven after you die?

@Pikachu Noone can get into heaven without the judgement of God, you are right. But Jesus took our place when we were saved so we go straight to heaven. If it wasn't for Jesus noone could get in.

Exactly. So how are they already in heaven if Judgement day has not come? Are they getting judged again then? Why are the people alive at the time of the second coming judged immediately and brought into heaven but the dead have to wait a thousand years?
Won't wash. You don't get to go into heaven until god makes his judgement. That hasn't happened yet according to biblical prophecy. You do believe what the bible says, don't you? You can't just make shit up because you'd like it if people were already in heaven.
