The common belief of the Christian appears to be that when you die you go straight to heaven. Actually you're dead in the ground until Judgement Day. [Spirituality & Religion]

There are a couple folks like Moses and Elijah who are up there already but by and large you stay dead until the second coming.

So where did the idea come from that you go straight to heaven after you die?

Well this sucks cause my grandmother promised to meet me at the gate when it’s my time.

Well if you're both going to go to heaven then you will. She's just sleeping until that time.

No she’s really dead by now, it’s been 19 years and I’m pretty sure she’s up there catching up with family until I get there! 🤗@Pikachu

lol well yeah. I just mean that according to the Bible death will be like a sleep that you wake from during the Resurrection.

I think we’re dead and gone forever personally. My catholic religion has me brainwashed though :( @Pikachu
