True, but neither can religion. The difference is that science doesn't claim it can explain everything, at least not yet, while religion does falsely claim to have all answers.

Can you explain in as much detail as you are willing/able why you think god/jesus is separate from religion or why you wouldn't consider yourself to be a religious person?
I hear you make this denial a lot but i don't recall you every explaining it.
So...what's the deal?

Look man, i'm just honestly asking you to share your point of view. If you're not interested in doing that then no big deal, i was just curious.
I've read Matthew 23 and it does not seem to me to account for your denial.

@GodSpeed63 it's a matter of semantics. You can replace religion with believe in God and my reply stands equally strong.
But the difference between science and believe in God isn't all that big if you think about it. When scientists reach that metaphorical door, they say "we don't understand the rest" and believers say "the rest must be the work of a super being we don't understand". Pretty much the same.
The real difference is how they handle the unknown: by exploring further or praising the mystery.

Believers say, "God is the Author of science and ordains it for benefit of mankind. He uses science to show us His creation and how He's made it all work."

@GodSpeed63 Interesting... Then why are so many believers against vaccination and medication?

Where'd you hear that?

@GodSpeed63 In the news, on social media, from aquaintencances. And it's also reflected in statistics. In areas with the most conservative believers, every epidemic strikes the hardest.

Matthew 23 would suffice as you opinion on religion, it is insufficient to explain your stance that Christianity is not a religion.
So why do you hold that contention? Can you explain it?

What does religion have to do with the Word of God?

@GodSpeed63 everything. Isn't that what every religion is based on?

No. Read Matthew 23 and see how God feels about man made organized religion.

@GodSpeed63 what God thinks about it is only one aspect. You asked what religion and belief in God have to do with each other. What is religion without a believe in God?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@NerdyPotato
What thinks about things is the only aspect to consider being that He is God and we're not.
Destructive.

A religion has formed around it.
What you think that's good or bad, whether or not the bible speaks out against organized religion, that is what has happened.
So...why do you say that Christianity is not a religion or the Jesus isn't a religious figure?
Can you actually make a case for that or is it just a bald assertion with no backing?

Christianity. It's the one where people go to church on Sundays and worship with specific rituals a personal deity called Jesus.
Heard of it? 😂

Oh no you're quite wrong. It's a group of people coming together in specific houses of worship to learn about their deity and then practice rituals and worships in accordance with codified rules and symbols. In this case Jesus Christ.
Thaaaaat's a religion kiddo.
Christianity, heard of it? lol
BOOM.
not a religion

@GodSpeed63 Oh boy, don't let Christians hear they aren't a religion anymore. That would hurt after being one of the 5 biggest for centuries.
