Atheists, if your Evolution is so good, how do you explain lemmings? [Spirituality & Religion]

Lemmings like to kill themselves. According to the theory of Evolution all behaviour of animals exists because it makes them stronger as a species.

So how does deciding to kill yourself benefit the species? It doesn't. Only if the lemmings who killed themselves had bad genes, but how would they even know that?

The idea that lemmings commit mass suicide is a myth.
Due to their high reproductive rate, they have population booms and busts. They breed up to high numbers when food is abundant and, when it becomes scarce, scatter in all directions.
